Ptolemaios I Soter Lagid, perhaps the most intelligent and strategic of the dynasts following Alexander's death. He played his part in the Successor Wars slowly but surely building up his power base in Egypt, introducing administrative and economic reforms to make him one of the wealthiest men of the age. As a king, soldier, statesman, and intellectual, he really was one of a kind. Yet he remained true to Hellenic roots despite presiding over one of the oldest lands in the world. I definitely believe he needs more attention.
