Saint-Petersburg might be compared with Venice because it has a lot of rivers and canals.
• One of them is Neva river. It is a large river which you can see neat Hermitage Museum. There is a legend about the name of this river. It is believed that Neva means a swamp.
• The next one is Moyka river. It is also located in the center of Saint-Petersburg. When you will walk in this city and cross the Anichkov Bridge, you will see this river. Moreover, some people think that if you throw a coin in Moyka river, your wishes will be granted.
• Obvodny Canal – is a longest canal in Saint-Petersburg. The metro station is called after this canal.
• The Griboyedov Canal starts from the Moyka river. It is situated in the center of the city near The Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood. The name for this canal is after the famous writer – Alexander Griboedov.
