_Sinossi_ . (00:06) Méliès è nel suo laboratorio, (la scena è quella del Teatro Robert Houdin); da una scatola (00:39) estrae una copia in miniatura della propria testa, la pone su di un ripiano dotato di un tubo, prende un soffietto e comincia a gonfiarla come fosse un palloncino (00:45).
La testa cresce a dismisura fino a che il suo possessore non decide di rimpicciolirla di nuovo (01:35), chiamato un suo assistente e lo invita a ripetere l’esperienza (01:53). Il nuovo arrivato, però, non si rende conto di quanta aria stia facendo arrivare alla testa e finisce col farla esplodere (02:14). Méliès furibondo caccia a calci nel sedere il malcapitato, poi si abbandona alla disperazione (02:24).

In realtà, non era la macchina che si avvicinava alla testa ; era Melies che veniva avvicinato oppure allontanato dalla cinepresa ; era seduto su una specie di carrello, la mdp riprendeva solo la sua testa.
