@20:40 Jenniffer Gonzalez is NOT a Congresswoman. Conversation already starts misleading.

The reason why some voted for statehood cause of citizenship they’re scared to loose it.

If Puerto Rico would become a state, it would be the only one that would speak a foreign language in its proceedings, which would not be understood by the rest of the other states. Puerto Rico should become independent since it is consciously unwilling to speak the language of most of the other states in the United States and be understood by the majority of the citizens living in the USA.

Identity is more important than statehood!

Independence or Free association is the right way to go. Statehood is never going to happen and it never should, there is too many obstacles that make it near to impossible to happen, and if it somehow does happen, it would be detrimental to both the US and PR politically, financially, and culturally.

What’s the difference between this bill and the past 3 times Puerto Rico has voted to become a state?

I think the choices we have ARE DIFFCULT. AS a Native born New Yorker and the Millions of others born in the USA Proper, I believe Statehood would certainly be preferrable. If Puertorriquenos decide on Independance just exactly how long would that last do you think? The Cuban economy, being much greater than what PRs would be and most likely a new trade partner, would most likely SWALLOW PUERTO RICO in ONE GULP, and what would the status of Nueva Yorkas would be?? Continued Commonwealth Status as SECOND CLASS CITIZENS SHOULD BE A DEFINATE NO< NO< NO!!! Not that Cuba is anything more or less but if INDEPENDENCE is the GOAL, THEN INDEPENDENCE FROM ANYONE ELSE is NECESSARY...Just thinking and saying..Could PR as an INDEPENDENT COUNTRY, SURVIVE?

They packed this forum with more statehooders to make it look like the majority of Puerto Ricans want statehood. This is all BS. Luckily the ones that actually spoke facts about history, politics, and economics were all the people against statehood. And all the people who wanted statehood only talk about how Puerto Ricans are just entitled to become a state just because Puerto Ricans are in the US military and they just want it because they themselves are "Proud Americans", when really everyone knows on the island that statehooders just want statehood because they want money to live on welfare and because they believe statehood is a magic wand that will fix all the islands problems. The statehood party is corrupt!! And for everyone who doesn't know the lady on the panel in blue Jennifer Gonzalez-Colon, she is very corrupt don't believe a word of what she says!!

Here in Puerto Rico Treasuring our second class US citizenship that we have earned by blood due to our loyalty in US Forces. Puertoricans are asking for Equality, the right to choose our President here in the island and more. PR is ready to become 51 state.

The only way statehood would work is if PR became officially bi lingual.

If the united state dosen't allow Renufication as another way for Puerto Ricans to vote than it's not going anywhere. And people on the island and in the mainland us don't understand that to become a state English has to be first language. And that more than 80% of Puerto Ricans have to vote for independence, commonwealth, statehood, and Renufication. Or it won't be a state period Congress won't allow Puerto Rico in. Alaska and Hawaii both had English as number one language and both states voted 80% to join the united state so get of the crack and know it won't happen at all. 🙀🙀🙀
