Sims 4 Players Being Silenced??

While sims 4 growing together was praised for gameplay, and some are enjoying the new kits for cas or build buy, bugs, glitches, crashing and console controls continue to show problems, update after update. And now some sims 4 players are claiming they're being banned or having their posts removed. Are sims 4 players- especially sims 4 console players being silenced?

ANOTHER SIMMER CLAIMS THIS MESSAGE GOT THEM BANNED RECENTLY:

"Dear Cade, Dear Sims Team. The solution is to listen to console players- the changes weren't needed. Therefore reverting back would help most. Please, listen to your players, don't delete their comments, and ban their for constructive criticism."

As always, I do my best to report- but with caution, and caveats with the limited information I have. Even if it's not a problem specific to this one issue, it is concerning.

I am not surprised by that. The Gurus don't want to hear anything negative about the game, so they think they can just delete and ban until it all goes away. Which it shouldn't. Console players need to keep this up if there is any hope of getting a genuine fix.

I got banned on the Sims Forums for complaining about the EA App being broken one too many times as well, it's awful this is happening to console players too. The reason for my ban was being too rude / harassment of staff, but I didn't even directly insult anyone, I just called their product buggy and broken and put blame on EA company as a whole in my complaint post that got removed. It definitely seems like EA Cade is the one swinging the ban hammer around.

It's frustrating as hell that players are told to use the proper channels to give EA feedback, only for you to get gaslight and given the run around on their end. EA still finds ways to just punish you for having an issue. EA has no intention on fixing issues for their customers unless you're high-profile (in other words, more than financially capable of suing EA).

EA is out of control. I really hate that a game so close to my heart is under this company, because they are ruining it. Banning players for less-than-positive feedback? Wow! 🤔

The official sims forums also has a history of over moderating users who provide nothing but constructive feedback. There's apparently a fine line between what's appropriate feedback vs what they consider to be crossing the line and breaking the rules. My impression is that the moderators of both the help forums and sims forums are incredibly sensitive.

The downfall of The sims has started. The season is ready for new life stimulation games. The market is opened for it. EA has gotten away with to many bugs in their games. Hopefully some of the life stimulation games make it to consoles with less bugs.

Let's see console players be able to assign the buttons they want, after returning to the original default IMO. This would be an accessibility improvement as well, so EA/TS4 could be proud of that change/fix.

Banning people on the forums seems like their Streisand Effect tbh. The more they ban people for giving feedback, the more people are going to hear about it who wouldn't otherwise. It's really not a good look.

Do they realize that if they are tired of criticism and ""trolling"", they just have to actually listen some real issues people have been having for...sometimes a long time and give actually something good and as expected from such a big company? They keep doing what they want to do, thinking it's a good thing while a lot of people are literally begging for something that won't ruin their experience with the game. I understand that they won't do everything people are asking (which sometimes is wayyy too much) but here, this is the minimum. A game is supposed to be fun and a good time, if it doesn't, they just have failed. I truly feel sorry for those people and the silence they are given.

Yah, I've been banned from the sims sub reddit. Why? Because I posted a link to my channel on a post that specifically requested for links to sims Youtube channels, twitter feeds and blog posts in the comments. First time, I got the notification about the ban, I asked why and they said, oops, mistake on our part and unbanned me. Then, I was banned a second time with a link to my comment for the explanation. I deleted my comment and asked for a warning and said I would never post a link to my channel again, but got no response. Even in the rules, it says you will get a warning first, not an immediate, permanent ban, but no, this mod wouldn't even reply to me. Some people get a kick out of the power to ruin someone's day. I'm not really bothered by my ban, but I'm sad that it's happening more often to others.

I moderate one of the largest Facebook groups for The Sims 4. And after the last updates that affected console controls people have been very upset. There was absolutely no reason to do either of these last two updates for them as far as I can glean. It was a literal situation of all they had to do was nothing. Not unlike taking away the photography relationship bonus. We love that option. It's particularly good if you're a 100 baby player since your mama doesn't have the luxury I'm spending a lot of time on relationships. But somehow they decided that that was a bug that needed to be fixed and look at the laundry list of things that they didn't do. There are incense still attaching to feet, I haven't received my toddler reward traits since high school years came out. Any number of things and they have wasted valuable programmer time to do something that nobody wanted. Or needed for that matter.

Yup.. I literally have all these issues and EA don’t even care why they chose to play around with it in the first place is unbelievable to me…. They can’t help themselves… it’s devastating
