Pikes Peak looks so good in person I would have that over the Bmw any day. I had the radar cruise control in Ktm 1290 SAS and it is great to use when you are not in mood to go fast and just criuse on highway.

Owned an XR. Traded it for the Pikes Peak. Not going back.

Multistrada is a motorcycle oriented to a variety of situations: distance touring, track days, commuting, even a little bit of off road... It seems to me the BMW is more a sports bike with the appearance of a touring bike...

Wow, so what Honda were doing 30 or so years ago with their V-Tec

So, the BMW realy has a lot more Hp and Tq, and is much lighter. You like the styling and the screen of the Ducati more . . . . . . .
Guess i take the bike that has best performance. 😁

I chose the Ducati Multistrada Pikes Peak over the BMW XR. For me one of the draw backs of the XR was the riders saddle is a bit bucket shaped and didn't feel comfortable. I prefer the looks of the Ducati and the 170 horses are more than enough for sporty rides up and down mountain twisty roads or on the endless routes through Schwarzwald. Even at low to moderate RPM the Pikes Peak will make you smile every time you twist the throttle.
I was surprised as how well the PP handles tight turns and long rides with passenger and luggage are just perfect with this bike. My Girlfriend and I just returned from a 4000km tour around Italy and we had a blast riding through the countryside twisty roads (even with the terrible condition of the Italian side roads)

Will have to see all the changes made to the XR. I owned a second gen XR, nice bike, but the seat was horrible. Traded the XR for a Pikes Peak, added the race exhaust & tune. The Pikes Peak is easily the better bike if you can afford it. More torque in low and mid RPM, better handling/suspension and it is more comfortable. Nicer looking as well. I am anxious to see the M1000XR though. I am sure it will be faster on a track, but on public roads I am not so sure the extra power will translate into better performance on twisty roads where torque is what matters.

When ducati realizes the pikes peak no longer the top dog
Next year on ducati unveiling season: we introduce the multistrada V4S Pikes peak....we gave it the engine from the Panigale V4S and the oil from the V4R and gave the Superleggera aero package cuz we are ducati and thats why and it costs 65k and has 220hp

I really wanted to have the BMW and I tried it, then I bought a KTM 1290. In line 4 are boring for me.

The only way to tell which bike is more enjoyable is to ride them - I ride a PP so unfortunately I wont be able to ride the BMW because I cant get off the PP!!!

You are calling them both "sports tourers" but the BMW is incapable of carrying any luggage which is why the chassis is lighter.

I own a S100XR (2022) and was wondering to buy the coming M1000XR until I realized that THERE IS NO SPACE FOR BAGS!!!! I bought my bike because I wanted a sport touring, but if I cannot do any touring the M1000XR makes no sense while Pikes Peak is super sport with space for bags. Won't buy, at least I saved money.

Ducati...own it and love it. I can spend all day riding in total comfort. when i ride with my friends that have supersports I have no problem keeping up in the twisties. Looks, sound, features, comfort, performance are absolutely amazing. Very happy with Ducati and so Glad they did't mess around with colors on their logo like BMW did this month.

I'll look at the MS when they start making AGAIN a base model with a 17" front wheel.
Not a fan of the "off-road wanna be" 19" front wheel. 💩👎😒

S1000XR owner for 3 years now. Dont think this bike gets enough credit for what it can do. All rounder in my eyes. Touring with my wife for 3 week, bimble round the town and amazing on the twisties. Only grumble is the standard seat. Had to spend £300 to make it right. The price of the PP would put me off. The BMW triple black TE has 90% of the extras compared to the PP and £8 or £9k cheaper.

BMW looks much better than Ducati...which looks like a collection of awkward angles!

So, the Ducati is ‘limited’ to only 170hp. What were they thinking?😂

MXR gets me sexually excited. A have a S1000xr its not the best thing ever a have zx12r also witch a prefer for speed if bmw can sort out the vibrations and wobbling at speed then the MXR be a lovely bit of kit for us men over 6ft tall

xr without M is my choice, over Ducati.
I own one and it is a great motorcycle.
With M, even more

I have the only actually good multistrada made. From 10 to 15. Mines a 13 1200. DVT bikes are more trouble than their worth. Tuned a 1200 nibbles the heals of 200hp with ease. And honestly? Dont know many folks that can handle all 150 of its stock hp, let alone after a tune. So imo? That bmw is a waste. MTS are already expensive. That stupid peen extension "200hp" bmw will likely cost as much as a pikes peak RS. Screw that.
