Things have a way of resurfacing, especially when the kids of that generation reach a certain age. If Venus de Milo showed up in 2022 comics & Danny from the 1990 film winded up with an action figure, than anything is possible. ...There are some versions of IPs that have that botched iteration stamp or elicit harsh criticism for taking "unwanted" liberties & "disrespecting" the source material, but this didn't really come across as that. More of the "superfluous" label that's followed it since back then. The thing is, what could be viewed as non-groundbreaking also lends itself to seamless re-use. Could picture the design used elsewhere and not being viewed as a homage or continuation ; the look was instantly recognizable.
