How to Photograph COMET NEOWISE like a Pro!

Показать описание
Photographing a comet that brightens enough to be seen with the naked eye can be a once in a lifetime event! Look northeast between 4 and 5am if you are in the Northern Hemisphere for the next week or so. Please download SkySafari, a free app, to help you find the comet very easily from your location! I don't normally wake up at 3am two days in a row, but when I do it is to chase comets! Comet C/2020 F3 NEOWISE has surprised observers across the Northern Hemisphere the past week. I first attempted to photograph the comet over Pittsburgh, but hustled up north to Mars where the skies were darker. I hope you enjoy this video and can get out in the early morning to see the comet. Awesome video. I couldn't believe it when I saw the Pittsburgh skyline. I live in the northern part of the county and have been shooting the comet at night for the past week in southern Butler Co.

Thanks so much Matt. I've gone out full of hope twice now but been thwarted by the clouds. Maybe tonite will be clear! I look forward to following your YouTube channel!

Very cool, Matt. I had a good view to the NE for early morning views here in Oregon, and got some great shots with my Nikon D810A and a Zeiss F/2 135mm lens. What a beautiful sight - best since Hale-Bopp!

Great shot at the end! So you used 200mm on the Full-frame Z6, correct? Focal length should be plenty sufficient if I use my 70-200mm f2.8 on my APS-C camera (300mm equivalent)? 🙏🌌🔭

Hey Matt, just found your channel. Great video! I have a similar setup. Just started using the Star Adventurer. Do you still put the setting on the dial to ‘Star’? Even though you’re shooting a comet?

Sweet! Good instructions! I might wait until it is on the other side for evening viewing.

Those were great shots! I might try to have a look see in the morning. It’s just so early and Arizona is still like 93° at 4am lol

Man I'm in Connecticut and have the d850. Would the sigma 14mm 1.8 be good for this or should I use my 70-200. I dont have that tracker though but wanna try this out
