Been thinking about it. Have a dark brown metal carport roof. It pops (thermal expansion) on sunny days. I'm told that there is nothing that I can do. But, I'm still thinking about painting it all white. (perhaps elastomeric paint if needed) to see if it helps.

I think a white metal roof would be very attractive. But I haven't seen many houses or garages with white rooves. Machine sheds out in the country have white rooves.

1.-What is the roof made of? Is that the same roof that third world countries use to roof their houses? Is it galvanized stainless steel?
2.-How resistant is it over time in the presence of all-year sun and sporadic rains?
3.-What metal gauge do you recommend if I´m going to use it in my patio for my home gym? The area I´ll cover will be 49 squared feet

Why would white metal roof be more apt to show dirt than a lighter gray roof ?
