🌄 Discover the Reno-Tahoe Lifestyle:
We explore the year-round outdoor activities that make Northern Nevada a paradise for nature lovers. From the affordability that stands out compared to other West Coast cities, to the lack of state income tax that draws residents from higher-tax states, Reno offers a host of financial benefits.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 The community vibe here is unbeatable; it's family-friendly with activities for all ages, boasting a vibrant arts and festival scene that stretches throughout the year. The food scene has evolved dramatically, turning Reno into a destination for foodies, while the nightlife keeps the city awake with its diverse array of entertainment options.

☀️ Reno's mild climate with over 300 days of sunshine provides an exceptional living experience, enhanced by a community that's connected and supportive, making it easier for newcomers to feel at home. Travel connections via Reno’s improving airport make it a gateway to major cities and international destinations easily.

🚧 Challenges of Living in Reno-Tahoe:
While there's much to love, we also discuss some drawbacks like the limited public transportation which might necessitate owning a car. Tourist seasons can swell the population temporarily, impacting daily life. The high desert climate presents its own set of challenges, including higher elevation adjustments and occasional wildfire risks.

🔥 Issues like air quality during fire seasons and concerns about the local education system are addressed. As the area grows, so does the traffic, and with it, concerns about water supply and environmental sustainability. Despite Reno's shrinking gaming culture, it remains a part of the city's fabric, with natural disasters like earthquakes posing sporadic risks.

📺 Join us as we delve deep into what makes Reno-Tahoe a special place to live, including both its sunny perks and the occasional cloudy days. Get the full story from a realtor with decades of experience in the area.

3rd time visiting reno at The Row with family. Definitely not vegas but it's nice. Lived in Anchorage, Alaska for a few of my younger years but went back and spent my 20s there. Small town, but more I visit reno more I start to get comfortable and notice the people better and it just feels like a piece of home from Alaska.

There are 3 areas in the USA that are almost European in appearance...San Francisco, Portland and Reno. The latter is still in the process of development.
Good people.
Lots of wind.

Another good thing about Reno is the number of thrifts/garage sales/antique markets including a very good used bookstore. Another bad thing is the health care system -- we are dead last in health care access, meaning you will have to wait longer to obtain a necessary procedure/surgery. As for the practitioners, doctors tend to go to school here & then immediately leave for other cities. The turnover of doctors is profound. I've lived here seven years.

About public transportation in the 80's and 90's, the joke was "Citifare gets you there if you have an hour to spare". I guess it turned into RTC ride now, which is harder to make fun of.

Washoe County School District is No. 1 in our state comparatively
But Nevada overall ranks lower (thanks Las Vegas).

I noticed 2 distinct cultures in Reno (at least during my skiing and mountain biking trips while visiting friends in Reno) that is the outdoor enthusiasts and the gambling and partying culture.
I like both!!!
