I just got a torque wrench and was re tightening all my screws because i notice i over tighten them on my bike and it made the seat start to squeak when riding. I accidently tilt my saddle a bit forward and it made my saddle feel 1000X more comfortable! It actually felt like it had cushions! This is after a year of riding and over 4000km. Wish I found this video sooner. Thank you for reassuring me with what I found. Cheers!

Great. This is the first video on tilt I've seen that addresses the actual shape of the saddle, so thank you Phil for actually helping it make sense. I'll not fiddle with my current bike set up as that feels good to me, but when I get my next bike I'll definitely explore this.

One of the best videos on this topic I've seen, covering different saddle shapes, different riding styles in a clear and concise manner, thanks

Just built up a raod bike and did a 36 mile ride, something wasn't right. I knew the gearing wasn't for me so changed it to a compact, also I didn't quite fit in to it. Rotated the bars back a couple big ml and just moved the saddle slightly forward and rotated the saddle down slightly, it now feels like a different bike. Just very slight change can make a massive difference..

Thank you for the education. Every little bit helps when you ride every day.

Thanks for short video and useful content. Other channels usually talk too much, not go to the main point.

Hey superb info video. I now know how naturally gifted I am at setting up a road bike. I hurried to the garage after this video to check and adjust but found my saddle was spot-on as you advised. Now that's why I never feel discomfort after a long ride. Cheers

Great video Phil, will message you in any case but it feels appropriate to add a note for this video. Following the session last week, did 110 miles total over Sunday and Monday and thanks to you I have experienced none of the saddle issues I told you about. What a great feeling when it all comes together 🙂

On a transport bike the point of the saddle is actually tilted slightly upwards.
Fully agree one any sports bike the saddle should be a little nose down to facilitate proper leg movement and avoid excessive back bend.

Saddle tilt I find is very connected to saddle hight too. I rotated my saddle forward, and felt like I was sliding forward, but then nudged the saddle hight and no longer felt so was falling off. What also nice with slammed tilted saddle is after a hard effort, you can slide back effectively taking pressure off the legs and feet while recovering yet still pedal

Thanks for the video. Great insight. I ride a fairly aggressive position and am always looking to tweak. Never considered the different parts of the saddle and I tend to ride at the tip so may well play about with it based upon the range you said.

Exactly what I was looking for, thank you.

I have noticed in a years that some seatpost are bit of difficult to adjust saddle in a right level because when you tighten the bolt saddle tilt easily change one way or another and you need to loosen bolts and start all over again. Little bit like trial and error thing.

Hi Phil, thanks for the great content. I‘m having a flat back „posterior pelvic tilt“ and noticed that I have way less lower back pain when my nose is tilted upwards, but I can‘t really explain why this is the case and how I could change things up because I‘m having neck/shoulder pain on longer rides.

Great visual at 03:40 with the pressure map and very small changes in saddle tilt. Amazing that everyone else has to dictate a fit setup.
Overall, a good show.

Short nose saddle with a lot of swoop in them are a nightmare to dial in. I have a Prologo Dimension NDR and a Syncros Belcarra, both with a high back end that swoops down to a short nose. If I level out that very small front section I'm okay in the drops or resting on my aero bars (inside). But if I'm in a more upright position on the hoods or bar (endurance spins) I'm very uncomfortable and find myself constantly adjusting and sliding forward from the higher back swoop. Then if I ride it slightly nose up to keep me locked in a position, I'm uncomfortable in the drops with too much pressure on the man part. Like I said, it's a nightmare. Too far forward, too far back, too high or low.

Hi Phil I'm constantly getting saddle sore on left perineum. Thanks for video will try slight tilt foward as may have it to straight hence the rotation pedal stroke is too much 👌 😀 thanks ill update you
