When the apostle Peter preached, thousands of people responded to the Gospel and worshipped God. There was no advanced technology back then, just the power of the Holy Spirit filling their hearts and minds.

I love how the first thing you mentioned was acoustic treatment! I think you hit the nail on the head with this video. It’s usually the last thing many pastors want to invest in but the biggest step in cleaning up the sound

Our leadership joined the church front family and honestly through the courses I have been able to take our live stream and in house worship production has been amazing!

Your content is amazing and is seriously helping those of us who are invested in Ministry Audio and Video. Thank you, thank you, thank you and God bless you!

15:10 Micro 4/3 is a smaller sensor than APS-C actually. But many manufacturers of Micro 4/3 are way better than some APS-C (A new LUMIX is better than an old Canon, etc)

If you’re looking to move to a digital mixer but can’t afford much, I recommend the Soundcraft Ui24R. You can find it for under $1000. I’ve been using it at my church for 2 years and I’m still happy!

I am the audio video streaming guy at my small church I do it all and yes audio has me chasing my tail to make it sound right (I’m my worst critic) it’s tough I run both services too.

One other point - you say 'get a digital console' but don't explain why that will help. It WILL help but the main reason is not really the audio quality (which will, of course, be better), but rather the fact that you can use automation to simplify the setup and operation during the service. Just being able to recall a 'known good' scene to start each service is a huge step forward. Add to that channel muting control via mute groups or Bitfocus Companion or Ableton Live and you are really starting to reduce the 'cognitive load' on your volunteers.

When it comes to worship space acoustics it is not as simple as most folks want to make it. The intelligibility of a room is measurable. The standard is called STI speech transmission index. Optimizing the RT60 (reverb time) with the STI to get the best intelligibility along with enough reverberant energy without slap or flutter echos is not a "just add some treatment to the room" process. It is a balance between the proper diffusion, absorption, speaker selection and installation and EQing. All of this can be measured and predicted. Room acoustics and sound system design is not a DIY process if you want it done well. There are lots of people giving acoustical treatment advice that is just wrong. Too many contemporary churches just add absorption to the point they deaden the room to the point congregationl singing is terrible and everyone feels isolated.

I have a question. We have a reasonably good setup in our church - two PTZOptics cameras, reasonably good audio system and ProPresenter7. My problem is everyone (including me) just can't seem to learn about ProPresenter7. The ProPresenter tutorials explain everything one can click on but don't explain the big picture as to how to actually do something like create slides. Because of this, we rely on importing PowerPoint presentions. What is a good way for the Baby Boomer generation to learn ProPresenter7, at least making slides?

This guide has so many oversimplifications that it hurts. Choosing cameras by only their sensor sizes or lens by their focal range or speed. Saying that we need no more gear but advising to throw out a possibly good analog system for a digital one. Getting a dedicated encoder while OBS or other software encoders can produce way better quality if they are configured properly with adequate hardware. Overemphasizing looks while for many small churches it isn't important. Backing tracks, ticks and automation can be an annoyance for some churches. From a world view standpoint this is a guide for a typical US style church.

Although I think there’s value to all of this stuff in the right context, much of this is excessive and catering to specific congregations. Not making the gospel the focus. When worship becomes a production it’s a slippery slope.

Lol this is a great but weird video. There shouldn't have been a caveat of you don't have spend too much but then there's also recommendations of things to buy and upgrade. There should've been a focus on how to leverage what you already have in each section.
How can churches make the best use of their ancient analog system before they're ready to get to digital mixers? It was a fight to upgrade to digital at my church. Heck, we needed a loan to get 'em
I can't believe Jake criticized OBS 🤣
What about churches who don't have the resources to upgrade yet?
Unfortunately none of the right tools are cheap, just utilizing what you have is not enough

"Poor production quality" My heart bleed!. Seems to suggest that the Holy Spirit will only appear in a digital production environment. Every other sentence is about production. What about the gospel message preached by one voice without in ears, lights mists, backing tracks. The whole thrust of this message is about providing an EXPERIENCE for the CONSUMERS. How on earth did the church of Christ grow from 33AD without stuff like electricity and the correct format camera sensor? Perhaps I'm just on the wrong side of the pond for all this hype, or perhaps I am on the right side of the pond!
