If anyone's questioning "why is there such a scene in this movie unlike other more grounded monsterverse movies?" tell them "it's an homage to the showa films" because most of the stuff in this movie are really that. Godzilla doing the victory dance, flying, breaking out of the ice, jumping into the water, doing the body slam, tail swinging his enemy into the air, Mothra stepping in between the boys to make them focus on the bigger threat, all of them are referenced in this movie it's crazy.
