Παραδοσιακό ηπειρώτικο κομμάτι φερμένο σαν ιστορία μεσω του θεάτρου από την Βόρεια Ευρώπη. Ακούγεται στο ομώνυμο έργο του Θεάτρου Σκιών του Καραγκιόζη. Βασισμένο στην εκτέλεση του κλαρινίστα Τάσου Χαλκιά.

Traditional tune from Epiros adopted as a story through theater from northern Europe. It can be heard during the play “Genovefa” of the traditional Shadow play theater of Karagiozis. Based on the version of the clarinet player Tasos Halkias.

Έγινε στην Ευρώπη.
Μια ρομαντική ιδέα. Το καλό είναι για καλό; Για κάποιους η εποχή του ρομαντισμού είναι η αρχή του τέλους. Στα τέλη του 19ου αιώνα φαίνεται να δημιουργήθηκαν οι βάσεις μιας Ευρώπης που αφέθηκε στον φασισμό. Ο άνθρωπος μπορεί να χάσει τη βούληση του για χάρη ενός ανώτερου και ασαφούς όντος ασπαζόμενος σταδιακά ολοκληρωτικές θεωρίες.

It happened in Europe.
A romantic idea. Is good for good? For some, the era of Romanticism is the beginning of th end. At the end of the 19th century it seems that the proper foundations were created for Europe to be left to fascism. Humans may lose their will for the sake of a supreme and vague being adopting totalitarian theories.

Ένας μεσαιωνικός θρύλος θέλει την Γενοβέφα της Βραβάντης αγνή γυναίκα και σύζυγο του κόμη Τριρ Ζίγκφιλντ του δουκάτου της Βραβάντης. Η Βραβάντη γεωγραφικά τοποθετείται κάπου ανάμεσα στο σημερινό Βέλγιο, το Λουξεμβούργο και τη Γερμανία. Σύμφωνα με την ιστορία η Γενοβέφα κατηγορήθηκε ψευδώς για μοιχεία κατά την διάρκεια της απουσίας του συζύγου της και ενόσω αυτός πολεμούσε τους Άραβες. Αρχικά καταδικάστηκε μαζί με τον γιό τους σε θάνατο τελικά όμως τους λυπήθηκαν και τους άφησαν στο δάσος απροστάτευτους. Εκεί βρίσκοντας καταφύγιο σε μια σπηλιά μια ελαφίνα τους πρόσφερε το γάλα της για διατροφή. Έτσι έζησαν για έξι χρόνια. Εντωμεταξύ ο σύζυγος επέστρεψε και μια μέρα κυνηγώντας στο δάσος ανακάλυψε ανέλπιστα την σύζυγο και τον γιό του.

According to a medieval legend Genevieve of Brabant was a sheer lady and wife of palatine Siegfield of Treves at the the Duke of Brabant. Brabant can be placed today somewhere between Belgium, Luxemburg and Germany. The story says that Genevieve was faulsely accused of infidelity while her husband was absent fighting the Arabs. Initially she and their son where sentenced to death but they were spared and abandoned unprotected in the woods. They found shelter in a cave and nursed by a deer. They lived there for six years. In the meanwhile the husband returned and one day while he was hunting to his surprise disovered his wife and child.
