I refurbished a HIV lab here in Bangkok for the US CDC. During that time I was on the email loop for CDC design team members flying out from CDC HQ Atlanta. I remember they exchanged emails about getting correctly vaxed up for all the tropical diseases they might encounter while in Thailand. Having survived Bangkok for 25 years unvaxed nor coming down with any nasty disease during that time I thought the CDC actions were complete overkill - here were all these 'experts' that had been propagandized by their own internal culture into taking dubious injections that were, IMO, completely unnecessary.
