There are so many ways to build mantels, but so little information out there on them. Especially a traditional build like this with an over mantel. I truly wanted to document this and put it out there to help anyone who wants to build a mantel. While no two mantels are really the same, I feel this video can serve as a general guide to get you started in the right direction. I love how that drip edge actually acts as a larger shadow line. It makes it look like the upper mantle is floating. Very cool
