🦊 In this GCSE Biology video, we look at how the temperature affects enzyme activity. We see that enzymes have an optimum temperature at which they function most effectively, and this varies among different enzymes. For human enzymes, the optimum temperature is around 37 degrees, the normal body temperature. It also discusses how enzyme activity changes with temperature variations, increasing up to the optimum temperature and decreasing beyond it due to denaturation, which permanently alters the enzyme's active site.
