I love hearing Zee talk about card games. It's obvious that they are very important to him and he understands the role they have traditionally played in people's lives (maybe his family's?) for generations.

Also, as others have said - loving these Zee/Mike reviews. This is the dynamic duo right here. Even when I disagree with them I always understand clearly *why.*

It’s a great game. I am a lifetime gamer with hundreds of games through my hands and a permanent collection of 250+ games. I love playing very heavy games, from 18xx and John Company etc but all the way through medium to light. This is one of my favourite light games of the moment. As you say, its cadence is really delightful.

Sea salt and paper is very addictive and i love the art! There is more strategy that one might think, really fun!

This game is phenomenal. We managed to buy a copy from France as it is currently difficult to get in the UK and have played 100s of games. For me, the player controlled end of round trigger really makes this game and is what 'softens' the luck factor. Like the doubling cube in backgammon. Lots of drama, pure Cathala.

I'm so glad Mike and Zee reviewed this together, I was certain they would love it if they played it.

This game looks beautiful, and I'm looking forward to checking it out. The graphic design (especially the little symbols to make the cards color blindness independent) is so elegant and the game overall looks like a very nice game to have in the "light palette cleanser" part of my collection. I'm also really impressed by the Zee/Mike reviewing duo this past year or so. They have a great dynamic, and do a fantastic job breaking these games down as well as explaining who they think might like them, and that makes their reviews a great resource!

I really hope this review means Sea Salt & Paper will be distributed for sale in US/North America. I've been playing this on BGA and would love a physical copy to travel with.

I’ve played this 5 times all ready this year. Very breezy, and random…but you still have choices to make. It even made a friend who hates “take that” go for the shark/swimmer duo.

I like the multi reviewer segments for sure but I miss the target system.

I love this game, cannot find it in my country though. I have been playing it on BGA amazing 🙌

Hey Guys, great review and totally agree having played it 6 times yesterday on BGA. The 'luck' looks and feels so strong until you've played it a couple of times. But after you get a feel for the game, wow it's tight and interesting. I can't stop thinking about this game.

The game is a available on Board Game Arena and the Pp has helped me to make my choice on this one. Great from 2 to 4 players. The game has been been played for more than 3 months and almost every evening with my wife

I am loving this on BGA - I hope it’s available in the US soon.

I have only one problem with this awesome game: I can't buy it! (in the US).
Love it on BGA, must played it at least 50 times already.

I LOVE the look of this game! The design and aesthetics are wonderful. The game feels like CABO (you can call the game when you're confident of winning) meets Sushi Go (set collection). It is a really 'warm' game with a great cadence. Very pleasant and very fluid.

Fantastic rummylike game complete with "gin", plus some Cathala's signature self-balancing

I can’t stop playing this game on BGA! It’s amazing and definitely the best at 2p - maybe 3p - but not 4p. Yes there’s luck but deciding when to stop to get points, knowing your opponent could beat a last chance, is great! Especially denying them one last turn to crush it.

Also knowing when you’re screwed so you bank on a bunch of the same colors for the bonus, waiting for their last chance bet. Then again, if they stop instead, that bonus is trashed! So good!!

really cute and smart little card game, I like the look, I can play a few times... However it's one of the few card games where, as a left-handed player, it's really bothering me that it's just 1 corner that shows the iconography and I cannot see what I have when I hold my cards in hand as usual.

Idiosyncratic the word you were looking for Mike? This was a helpful review.

I think the word you are both looking for is "charming."
