How Indian Soldiers Saved Haifa in World War I

You probably haven't heard of this before. This is how India helped liberate Haifa in World War I (1918).

We recently celebrated 100 years to the Battle of Haifa, to the Jodhpur Lancers who fought alongside the British Army. THANK YOU!

I live in a small city next to Haifa but I work in Haifa (it's the biggest city of the north of Israel). I see this cemetery everyday through the window of the bus. I had no idea that is an Indian cemetery. I thought it was an old Arab cemetery. This story is so sad and heroic 😢. India is the best 🇮🇳🇮🇱💪.

I've always felt an affinity with Indians. I grew up in Jackson Heights, Queens, NY which eventually had a really big Indian population. They added so much to the neighborhood and I find their ways so dignified and charming. Now I teach and I always seem to connect with my Indian students. If the subject of Israel comes up they all seem to be sympathetic to Israel and the Jewish people. Thank you for your sacrifices in Haifa and may our peoples' friendship always be strong.
