PS4: How Thief Uses New Tech to Enhance Its Gameplay

Thief uses the PlayStation 4 tech in a unique way to immerse you deeper into the gameplay.

The red markers over NPC enemies that shows level of detection can be turned off in the UI options, as can the light bar changing color to show if in shadow or not. The QTE have been taken out completely. Eidos thought they could revolutionize the Thief brand with new gameplay mechanics similar to what the studio had previously done with Deus Ex, however failed to realize that the Thief universe & gameplay mechanics where perfect as is. This franchise helped revolutionize the stealth genre, you don't need to go mucking around with a winning formula. It seems now that the studio is beginning to realize this and are backtracking a bit in efforts to correct some of the travestys commited. I still remain hopeful for a great experience with lots of immersion but I also am keeping these hopes in check as to not be utterly disappointed if the game bombs. If worse comes to worst...we will always have the first three games and excellent mods.

Dishonored was inspired by the first three thief games. Think about it:
Hammerites=Overseers
Pagans=Granny Rags and Other Rune Collectors You Read About

The first thief game was amazing it came out in 1999, this new thief continues that tradition. Also dishonoured came out in 2012 so the original thief is much much older than dishonoured .

For some unknown reason I was not looking forward to this game, but as time went by I've grown to really want this game. I love stealth games. So now I'm beyond excited to play this.

All we need for now is more buttons on our controllers...that's a good start...that would truly make a difference in possibilities...think how often we're limited is certain types of games because either developers are stupid or there aren't enough buttons on the controller...many people this will sound downright stupid but it makes sense. I wish the big name consoles publishers would realize that more control is more important than different (less accurate) control, or advanced processors (that will only make sure developers STILL cap their games at 30 fps ANYWAY) or app capabilities...

I find funny that this two "videogame experts" just found out about thief. In truth there have been 3 official games and many comunity made games and they are excelent.
The idea of freedom and power is new to them.

Razorfist introduced me to this game saga a long time ago.

I actually finished the first thief for the first time a little while ago and am currently playing thief 2 for the first time.  Still very playable and awesome in part thanks to fan-made patches :)

I think thief is going to be an awesome game. I played didhonored, plat it out, and have been looking for games as fun as it was, and thief looks like it will be

For me it'll be just like Dishonored ..
Trying to do with the stealth way at first, but after failing I kill everyone.

I like the light on the controller but you can't see it while you're actually playing.... Perhaps you can in the dark but i don't really play in the dark..

Does anybody knows if Thief is going to be open world like skyrim or Deus Ex or if its going to be diferent levels?
