2016 Acura NSX - 2015 Detroit Auto Show - Fast Lane Daily

The 2016 Acura NSX made its production debut at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show. The Acura NSX is powered by an all-new powertrain with a twin-turbocharged V6 engine with a 9-speed dual clutch transmission (DCT) and three-electric motor Sport Hybrid system. Acura says it will make somewhere north of 550 horsepower. Production starts this summer with sales to begin later this year.

It's awesome to witness the birth of a new legend. January 13 2015 was a date long awaited, and will hopefully be an important one in Honda's history. This time they should not let it get old like the first NSX. Honda has what it takes to be at the top in this segment, keep this project alive.

The original NSX looks better and just knowing that Ayrton Senna helped developed it makes it better. But I'm sure this will be fast. It's AWD, two electric motors upfront powering the front wheels. The V6 which is supposedly based off their new F1 engine that will be in use at the Australian GP this year has an electric motor paired to it to be used at torque fill to reduce turbo lag like the P1 has. I'll assume that's because of the partnership they have with McLaren for F1 again. Yet people are saying 550hp or more isn't a lot of power. Well unless your daily driver is a Veyron SS its a lot of power. Stop bitching.

The original NSX had a clear goal and succeeded - it was a better car than the 348. This car, however, is a mass of confusion, it seems. We need to challenge the GT-R! No, the 458! Wait, how about some hybrid 918-ness? How about this Honda - don't call it an NSX because it just isn't, keep it lightweight no matter what even if you must remove the electric motors no one really wants, release the damn thing,   let the chips fall, and learn from there. But have a team of corporate scrubs calling the shots at Honda instead of Soichiro this time, so I won't hold my breath.

Complaints about old tech in new supreme and hyper cars makes no sense... New tech is what they are about. So no manuals? Because humans are too slow. Hybrid tech? Because, instant torque and fuel economy standards. No old school big block V8? because they can make more efficient HP, save weight and enter into more racing series if need be. The only complaints that should be heard are those regarding nanny-tech... Parking cameras, auto braking lane departure control. And/Or e-mail, Facebook type messaging systems in car.
Car companies and govts especially need to toughen up the licensing procedures in north America we now have too many unskilled drivers causing accidents.

This looks old already, at least to me it doesn't feel special anymore. I was excited about this car 2-3 years ago, when the concept came out, but now it just feels like old news.

I just like the old first 90's NSX the most they were and are the shit!! I just wanted to see a bit more of the old shape in the new I don't really see any like the Ford GT looks awesome due to keeping the old body lines with people bitching about power well Honda's not stupid there gona hide there true potential tell track time I really want to see this car succeed though
