What is OpenStack and what services do I need?

What exactly is OpenStack? From its roots, as a joint project between NASA and Rackspace ,to today the answer to that question has both remained the same and yet grown to be a larger story over time. And who runs it and why has also evolved over time to include private and public clouds, telco providers, universities, scientists, and governments.

In this session, we'll go over the history of the project, talk about it's growth over the years, and then talk about the services you need to install for a minimal deployment, as well as others you might want to. In addition, we'll touch on several of the ways you can deploy OpenStack to create a Proof of Concept as well as the options for a production environment.
