i used to be madly in love with my best friend and on a february night she told me she also is in love with me. the next day she showed me this song and told me this is “her song for me”.
i knew that we wouldn’t work out because we both have communication issues and she’s very afraid of commitment. unsurprisingly, a few weeks after our confessions, we decided to remain friends to protect our friendship but i was so heartbroken that i couldn’t listen to this song again without bursting into tears.
i’m still not fully over her although she has moved on and it still hurts thinking about it. i don’t even think it means that much to her anymore, especially when it comes to this song.
i always wonder if it could’ve worked if we had fallen in love a few years later when we’re older and more mature. :(
