Sigma vs Ishii Tile Cutter

Some times a great tile cutter wont cut the tile you have. Not all tiles can be cut the same by different tile snappers. In this video, we do a head to head cut comparison showing how our Ishii JH-650 tile cutter out performs the Sigma 3B4, cutting the same tile with a different result. Sigma is a great brand and will outlast almost any other tile cutter on the market as far as durability and strength go. But just because it can't cut certain tiles doesn't mean it is broken or even needs another scoring wheel; it may just be the tile you are using. The Ishii score and snap tile cutter is a great brand if you are new to the industry and looking for a great tile snapper that is affordable that cuts almost all tiles we have come across.

If he cut a second time with the sigma and the tile didn't snap evenly I would believe him.

I'll put my Sigma push 3B4M up against any other cutter. Had it six years, use it 4 days out of 5 on the commercial side of tiling (office toilet cores, lift lobbies, London underground) mainly porcelain. Nothing else comes close....haven't even had to change the wheel

How does the ishi compare to the sigma with a max handle

literally met this guy today when I bought my Sigma. Really nice guy and was showing another guy how to operate his 2b3.
I want to know, how do you know what height to set the bar to?

Why does the max handle have a bigger wheel? Is it for harder materials?
I’ve only had the sigma for a few hours but it seems easier pulling then pushing, I couldn’t see the wheel as well to watch my cut- and don’t have any tricks up my sleeve -yet...
Thanks

shouldn't you be using a full tile on both products, as the smaller tile will be stronger

I have a Sigma for 8 years I have done hundreds of bathrooms and honestly maybe 2 times it cracks so shallow, you need to position it well

This is not a good comparison, you cut the big tile on the sigma and then only continue on the Chinese cutter. You should have done the same on both cutters. And yes sometimes tiles brake due to tension. Sigma is far the best cutter I used, have used montolit, rubbi and raimondi.

common sense, You cut a whole tile on the sigma and then cut that piece on the ishii. Poor comparison
