I would kill for some kind of Half-Life TV show where we explore Breen's life during the 20 year Combine occupation of Earth.

He starts out petrified upon seeing an Advisor for the first time and negotiating surrender. As he becomes Earth's new leader he tries to preserve Humanity and life on Earth throughout the 20 years, but more often than not, failing miserably. On numerous occasions he could try to talk with the resistance, but the Combine advisors merely use him to lure them out without his knowledge. That's just one example... There could be whole seasons oriented around him trying to stop the effects the Combine puts in place on Earth: Stalkers and Combine Soildiers, The Suppression Field, and the draining of the oceans. Each failure from these events is a failure to maintain a piece of his humanity and eventually he becomes a shell of his former self and the complete obedient and rationalizing puppet we see all throughout Half-Life 2 with only fragments of compassion and care for his own race and planet.

И если так подумать, только благодаря ему стала возможна эта революция, он внушил альянсу, что земля капитулировала. Но без этого человека, людской вид пропал бы навсегда. Это показывает нам, что каким бы ужасным человек не был с виду, внутри он может быть слаб, а может и вообще иметь благие намерения.
