Day 1 F2P player here. FuXuan is definitely my top 3 broken units in the whole game. She just fits every where and sustain very well. If you have DPS but lacks sustain. I recommend pulling her over cowboi, or bugfly.

Her lightcone is such a quality of life for SU and farming it's worth just for that. Always topped up HP on battle start. never worrying about having items set up.

Fu Xuan is great and she carried my account for a while. However, you're underestimating Aventurine outside of FuA comps. He still does a ton of damage if you build him for it and your team will still stay alive very easily, all at E0S0.

My Huohuo and Aventurine are doing great for me. Could be nice to have her but you only ever need so many high-level sustains.

Fu Xuan is great for brainless sustain in general content.

Her biggest weaknesses:
-Aoe Nukes, especially frequent ones
-Being affilicted with dot
-Her being targeted repeatedly
-Frequent CC (Her first prevention is amazing, if an enemy often follows up with another though, its over and its the worst feeling. You need to keep reapplying the shield for that prevention)

These situations are bad because once she loses her stacks, no hp regen and then it goes downhill from there. This won't happen in much common content, mainly this is what I've learned from content where I desperately needed sustain, like Gold and Gears.

Her biggest strengths:
-Her signature lc, despite how it only triggers on a new wave, its nice to have everyone back to at least 80% especially if you didn't bring a healer. And its hp regen is nice if you're struggling with her stacks.

-She can solo sustain most scenarios, such as if one character (besides her) keeps getting targeted.

-Her buffs are nice.

Are her eidelons needed? No not at all. My E1 pull for her was entirely accidental, it provides some nice crit dmg(30%) in addition to the crit rate buff she provides. Her E2 is definitely not needed, but her being able to revive is nice, especially in gold and gears. It can also revive teammates but they should not be dying first with her there. (Once she dies in g&g though its over for the rest of them)
Also the revive doesn't trigger if field is down, you never not want to have her field down, so make sure to keep an eye on it.

I feel that its nice that I only have E1, because the only place I need a revive is gold and gears, so I'll just select the eidelon curio each time to gain it instead.

Is her LC necessary?
No, but it makes her far more comfy. I hated playing her without the lc. After pulling her lc for my partner, I decided to pull one for myself and it felt leagues better. You want a lot of hp, and it makes it easier to obtain, on top of more er regen and the hp regen each wave as mentioned prior.

I pulled Aventurine and have not used her in general content ever since. I much prefer him, shields just save me a lot of issues. There are tradeoffs like not having wave heal from lc or no direct dmg buffs. But there were many benefits I found far more valueable. (Being able to survive aoe nuke) I take Aventurine to g&g, Fu xuan is usually used on my second moc team if anything. Also he is truly SP positive, I don't have to skill again to avoid a debuff, unlike Fu Xuan. It gets better if you have a fua teammate, or E1, which I wish I had for max comfy.

Other sustains owned: Luocha E0, Lynx E6, Gallagher E2, bailu E1.

I am a returning player and I only have Aventurine for my 5* sustain. I will try to get Fu Xuan during this rerun hopefully (ig i can save up to 40 pulls during her banner duration pls bless with luck) with 0 pity but with guaranteed hero. I had experienced first hand that Natasha fell off from her glory days in 1.0. Lynx and Gallagher are good to use but I find it that in some scenarios you are chasing after hp bars of teammates (might be a skill and gear issue on my part) after boss and hard hitting mobs turns. After acquiring Aventurine I saw how different having a 5* sustain is on your team. Aventurine helped me stabilize my MoC team even if it wasn't a FuA team. Now I will try and get Fu Xuan for the second team (and maybe for Mono Quantum). I also got my very first MoC 12 and PF 4 full clears.


To new players or my fellow returning players that stopped/quitted early in HSR my honest recommendation would be get sustains first for your account 2 is enough (either go for waifu/husbando or try to be more specific for whatever team you're building for example HuoHuo for DoTs/Aventurine for FuAs/Loucha for Jingliu + Blade etc etc.) I ignored this and pulled for DPS mainly but later suffered not clearing content and getting frustrated and later lead to quitting (I know skill issue). Secure your sustains first then whichever 5* harmony supports you want and lastly your desired DPS.

If your Fu Xuan gets one-shot outside of the GG fat robots, you need more DEF. The 1219 in the video is really too low. Get around 1600+ and this won't happen.

I was set on getting Fu Xuan on the next banner but then I started building Gallagher for the break team and now I'm not so sure. Gallagher is much better than I thought he would be, a big step up from Lynx and super break is just so strong. My 3 teams are Acheron team, IPC and super break team and I don't really know which of these teams she would actually slot in to.

She's still really good; I don't think straight damage mitigation could ever be bad.

But I think the game is slowly introducing more and more enemies that apply DoTs and have AOE attacks that will shred Fu Xuan's health.

Fu is my fav character but I think a weakness that no one mentions is that she's not good against frequent CC. You can see it this MOC at side 2 and u cant outstat this weakness
