When this movie came out in 2000 I was stationed in Germany with the Army...when it was played at the post theater I went to see it and over two hours later I left the theater a changed man...this movie was a great experience and the soundtrack the most beautiful and moving I ever heard...later on when the soundtrack was released I got it and then spent a few weekends touring around the Roman ruins sites in Germany...I would wear my headphones and listen to this music while walking around the ruins...it was such a great way to transport yourself to another time for a while....20+ years later and this is STILL my favorite movie and soundtrack.

Steven, I at 86 still marvel at the power of music to elevate and deepen that experience of a moving story, or some scenery, a vacation, even tine just with oneself. And I loved how you used the movie experience by going to the Roman ruins. I'm sure as a military man you couldn't help but connect with men of "another time" who were in the Roman military, men who once lived there, who may have fought or died there so many yrs ago. Gladiator was my father's favorite movie, he died when I was 12, and now I'm 24 and every time I listen this soundtrack, it makes me remember him, now gladiator is one of my favorite movies too, such masterpiece!
