You'd be amazed at the number of people who don't realise their A6 planners are actually personal size. Is this you too? In this video, I'll be explaining what we mean by the A paper sizes, and how to easily spot the difference between the two so you'll know exactly what you're shopping for.

Love this, thank you for going into more detail about A6 and Personal size. Way back when I was looking for an A6 I ordered what I thought was an A6 off Amazon and ordered my inserts off of Etsy they were not the same size. So I know the frustration.

This is a good video that clearly show the difference between the A6 and Personal size. I have Personal, but love the look of the paper size of A6. Thank you for the explanation Ellie.

As someone in U.S…. I have taken A6 as a skinny personal, bc in the craft stores that sell personal planners the inserts are 4”x7”. They are too wide to fit in some “A6” planners (with personal ring configuration). I personally like the skinnier inserts for a skinnier planner. Give me pocket width just about with more height and I am happy. Even Franklin Covey has pocket inserts and you look on the size listed and it is actually personal according to this info, but according to craft stores here in U.S. personal planner inserts are 4”x7”, so it is skinnier. Bottom line measurements are needed every time a person is buying personal or A6. Thanks for the video! It was neat to learn the actual true origins.

Oh my goodness. This was so helpful. I bought what was supposed to be a Moterm A7 pocket planner from Amazon, got it and its an A6 personal planner luxe, I think, because its definitely not the A7. So, I was researching and found your video as an explanation. Thank you. I think the mix up is that over here in the US, the "personal" planner is also called the A6 planner, which it isn't, size wise, compared to Europe. And the US A6 is also called a TRUE A6, just for funsies, I guess. Then add in the whole y'all use centimeters and we use inches, and it's enough to make your head explode. Thank you for helping us to sort stuff out. I really needed this video.

I run into similar issues with A5 & half letter size. My planner is A5, but I live in the U.S. Sellers conflate them, but they are NOT the same!

Oh my goodness, yes! As someone who uses personal size, the struggle is very real due to all of the confusion!

Wish I found your video first. I am in the process of returning a bunch of American A6 inserts. I purchased a true European A6 from Tunisia thru etsy that uses inserts sized at 4.1"x5.8". I haven't received it yet but I am so glad I realised the diffrence in sizes of planner and inserts. I bought a compatible hole punch so I can do my own thing sometimes. Enjoyed your video!!!

If you have some A6 but you use a personal planner, (and they are blank) you can cut them in half IF YOU USE HALF PAGES. (Just if you want to be able to use them) they would stick out a bit so… they could be section dividers/tabs of sorts)

Thank you soooo much for this video! It's such a pain as a planner babe who's not new to the community. A6 short fat square, personal tall skinny rectangle. It's def hard when the vendors don't know or list the dimensions and we can't measure the physical rings. Don't even get me started on personal wide and b6!

how delightfully diplomatic of we all know the confusion comes because Americans refuse to join the rest of the world and use the Metric system. Of course, since they do have a tendency to 'change' any system they adopt to suit themselves, they're just as likely to go metric then rejig it as they've done with the Imperial system of measurement, and the english to american english language etc; and Aliexpress don't help matters with their confusing "A" sizes. Thanks so much for your detailed explanation, I'm sure it's going to help de-mystify planner sizes for many 🌹🌹

This is amazing! I wish that planner companies would definitively decide on the terminology for these two planner types. For me. It's been allot easier to tell people what companies produce A6 than to give them dimensions and ring spacing to consider. It's allot! Thank you so much for this video. I'll just start sending people over here!
