Super cool, thanks for this. I was looking into getting a looper station but I have ableton so I'll definitely try this out first and save the $.

This is wonderful dear Ken👏 your improvisation reminds me of the brilliant ending score of the Jim Carrey movie “Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events. Please do more of these Ableton Live Tutorials 👍

I just watched a bunch of your videos and I enjoyed them very much. I'm primarily a marimbist, but I have about 20 Cooperman Drums--the Riq being my favorite! Thanks for these videos! Your original tunes are also fantastic. :)

Thank you Ken for the tutorial. How do you move back and forth from your mic to bass track in this setup. I looked for you doing that in the video but didn't see it.

Thank you. Your help is much appreciated.

Great video dude! You explained CLEARLY what other videos can’t manage to do. Well done.
I wanted to know if it was possible to use the same buttons to control a looper on channel 1, and separately on Channel 2. The answer (as you’ve explained) was to use a separate bank on your midi controller. 🤜🏻

I think that’s right. 😂

Great video Ken 👍 I'm considering taking the plunge with Ableton Live with Push 2 and was wondering if you can set a loop track(s) to auto record at a given time and repeat for as long as you need it to without having to have a footswitch ?

Trying to figure how I can use this feature of having access to different banks on my SoftStep.
If anyone knows how to, please help me out.
Otherwise I will have to get a Looptimus... :/
Thank you for the great tutorial!!!

Hello! My question is: Is it possible to assign one button on / off in this device? I have a Boss RC500 looper and would like to use all 8 buttons for different toggles. And is it possible to change the built-in HOSTs for my Boss RC500 in order to have more banks available?

Hi Ken - thanks for this video it was the prompt for me to pickup a cheap midi commander. One thing I noticed that might be new - when I start up the unit in preset 5 I get a preset called "ALL CC#" - this preset seems to be a mapping of every CC from 1 to 64 across 8 pages! Does your unit have this? Perhaps they updated the firmware since you originally posted. Even better, this preset is set to only send '127' ( instead of the toggle mode ). This makes this preset more useful than using CUS2 from my perspective as it provides 8 pages. ...One limitation I noticed however was that the inputs from expression pedals 1 & 2 are mapped to CC# 21 and 22 respectively and these are also produced by buttons A and B from page 3. My use case is 4 looper tracks so I'm just going to start mapping buttons at Page 4.

Do you have problems with latency? I’m having problems figuring out why my setup has so much.

Which version of Ableton Live do you use? Is intro enough or do I need standard?
