I would say it's a mix of stupidity and bad luck. Muzan is stupid for killing his doctor and turning every human he wants into a demon. Bad luck because(spoilers)





out of every human he killed, Tanjiro's family was the worst possible outcome. Tanjiro's family knew exactly where the blue spider Lily bloomed and often turned them into tea. Frankly speaking, Muzan had no real way of knowing this

Spoilers: Muzan shows up on the demon slayer mansion’s doorstep and summons all the slayers to the infinity castle. Then Kokoshibo kills Genya and the Mist Hashira because he’s HIM. Nobody ends up being able to kill him so he just does it to himself. Shinobu gets eaten by Douma but her poison extremely weakened him for Kanao and pig boy to finish him off. Tanjiro slices Akaza’s head off but he regrows it?? Akaza gives up like uppermoon one tho. Zenitzu kills his brother, who became a demon. Everyone gangs up on Muzan but Muzan solos them all. Literally all the Hashira die. Nobody ends up killing Muzan except for the Sun. He destroys the demon slayers before dying. Muzan gives all his blood to Tanjiro. Tanjiro becomes a demon king, proceeds to conquer the sun and then try to hurt nezuko, who became a human again. Kanao jukes Tanjiro snd injects him with medicine and he turns back normal. The end. Everyone dies in the end because of old age. Inosuke’s descendants find the blue spider lily again…..
