Number one it is not debt forgiveness but transferring of debt to others that did not make the debt !...

NOT MY DEBT - so it shouldn't be MY PROBLEM...

The students argument is that they aren't being treated fairly and they are the injured party... by being forced to pay back the loans they voluntarily took out. Which is too stupid to comment on.This case should have never ended up before the Supreme Court.

We both worked and paid my husbands tuition as we went. Our children worked all summer and during Christmas and spring breaks. They paid their housing and tuition and we bought their books and living expenses. There are still ways to reduce the amount of your loans. Don’t try to live on loans. Young people under 25 should not be taking out loans. They are depending on their degree to get them a high paying job but then they major in foolish areas like “women’s studies” and cry that they can’t pay off their loans. You don’t have to choose the most expensive university and some states like Washington allow students to take college courses their last 2 years of high school. When they graduate they already have 2 years of college completed. If you can’t afford it then you should think about learning a trade. Many trade jobs pay more than most college degrees.

How can you claim an Injury, there is no injury here, they want a handout plain and simple, pay your friggin own debts you were so happy to incur.

Make them responsible for their actions as an adult and pay their bills no debt forgiveness

If anything they should be trying to sue for a refund and giving back their worthless degree. Another lesson learned on both sides.

Your loans, your debt, not my responsibility!

Stop just questioning and doubting, tell them no! No student debt relief!

I'm not for student debt relief necessarily, but it would be nice if they didn't allow 17 year olds, who aren't even legal adults, to sign for them.

You don't have to be a legal scholar to see that this patently unfair. Why does one persons college education require the mechanic to pay for it? This is vote buying, pure and simple.

Should the universities and banks be liable for wasting tax dollars on educations that were never going to be repaid? Just asking because it seems that if the students who took uneconomic courses are not accountable for their decisions the next in line must be the institutions that enabled these kids to waste money they did not have. They are also the ones that directly profited from the arrangement.

So if their claim is the taxpayer is to foot the bill for perfectly legal loans for people who are effectively admitting they are in breech of contract of the loan agreement, then taxpayer have the standing to sue all those who get this 'relief'.

Pay your debt period. Apparently bankruptcy will no longer exist. I am furious paying for Ukraine and debts others owe.

What amazing to me and I’m thankful. Although I have my own ideas on several subjects.
Trump. Courts. Covid. Has opened my eyes to a different world. Once living in a land of lies the last 6 years has changed many outcomes

Blanket loan forgiveness is, in essence, denial that the borrower has a legitimate debt and the lender has a legitimate claim. It encourages irresponsible borrowing, which in turn breeds a culture of abdication of personal accountability. That's not a good thing.

When all is said and done, the simple fact is, that one, the 'forgiveness' will be paid effectively as a tax to the American taxpayer, and two, under our Constitution, the executive branch holds no authority to levy taxation. By rights, should wind up a 9-0 vote, but unlikely.

I completely disagree with that sign!! It is illegal to burden people with other people's loans!! Ludicrous!!

Of course it’s legal! Just like bailing out banks.
