**RECOMMENDED** Concentrated exercises for the Bonham triplet.

***BONHAM Triplets specifically starts at 6:50**** Gadd 50 Ways Beat part starts at 22:25.

I haven't posted for a while so this is a quick video I made today. I had some more folks ask about strengthening the Bonham Triplet on their weak side, so I thought I'd put this up, but also show that consistent practice pays off, as I recently have been working on Paul Simon's/Steve Gadd 50 WAYS TO LEAVE YOUR LOVER drum beat, and in a few short weeks have gotten pretty good at it. I also my fixation on mastering the FAST jazz ride technique a la John Riley.

..AND, if you'd like to buy my album of nifty tunes:

(..I have to do the shameless plug!)

you are the first person who's ever been able to make bonzo's fills ect. remotely make sense to me. I have been drumming over 30 yrs. There's not much I cant do if I commit myself but the continuous Bohnome trip-el-ett just won't sink in. Your teachings are a wonderful way to get my son started and I thank you very much :)

That's a great explanation because I have a hell of a time leading with my left hand - I'm right handed, my left hand is very uncoordinated. I'm always trying to strengthn' my left hand and get it more "athletic" like my right hand is.

The Innovations were a B8 alloy series that was around for a few years.I remember some of the cymbals had very intricate lathing & laser etching patterns. Several + years ago the big 3 (Sabian, Zil & Paiste) stated getting fancy with their lathing and hammering on some lines, and the INNOVATIONS was a B8 version of that type of marketing (in my opinion).

It's my favorite kit! I got them a lll separately on Ebay several years ago. It's a 1966ish KB 22" Sil Spark BD, a 1970 B/O badged 9x13 (silver sparkle with red sparkle stripe), and a red sparkle with silver sparkle stripe 12x15 tenor drum I converted into a floor tom.

I have a set of the 15" reissue Giant Beats and I love them! My friend Bob got them at the Chicago show when they first came out, and he sold them to me. I was never fond of the 2 original GB pairs I owned, but Bob lent me a pair to make one of the Paiste vids I made, and those sounded great. I prefer the sound of the reissue 15"s though.

Thanks for the nice note.

I got an email maybe a year ago saying videos could be longer than 10 minutes, and I assumed it was for everyone.

I have 1967 super classic kit in silver sparkle. After I saw your 13" tom with red sparkle stripe, I will probably try to make my set looking like your tom

i use that fill a lot terry but always struggled to keep it going, ie the bass drum would not come in the middle, so i see your video should make it easier working on just the tom and floor tom, i shall be working on it m8, thanks yet again, Gaz

What is more effective for me to learn this was to open and close the high hat on the first beat, and it seemed to come together for me

I haven't played them or seen them, though bI've heard the sound files on the Paiste site. I had told a Paiste rep that I thought it would be a good idea to have a MED THIN Giant Beat and a MED HEAVY Giant Beat, but I felt (feel) the current regular GBs would be the MED THIN, and they should make a slightly heavier MED HEAVY model. So, of course I was surprised to see the THINs. Don't get met wrong, I have no pull at Paiste of course.
