Good Pair Days - Ceravolo Barbera 2015

Показать описание
The Ceravolo family came to Australia from Calabria, in the deep south of Italy, over fifty years ago - from the Old World to a New World. A happy co-incidence that they came from the 35th north parallel in Southern Italy to the 35th south parallel in the South of Australia, where climatic conditions were similar, and thus perfect for the kind of gentle, sensitive viticulture their family had practised for generations.
All the wines are estate grown, meaning the family personally tend the rows to ensure optimal ripeness and quality. The main vineyards are nestled high in the Adelaide Hills, amongst cherry orchards and a chestnut grove, again echoing life back home in Calabria.
The family is Antony, Fiona, Heather and Joe Ceravolo, with Joe the driving force in the vineyard. These are faithful interpretations of classic Italian grapes, with a lovely modern Australian edge.
A lovely wine - has some age, but is still fresh and zesty. There's loads of fruit aromas, like strawberry, plum and orange peel. Then the palate is both fresh and savoury, with acid and a lick of tannin on the finish to keep things interesting. It's long and tangy, with more cherry and strawberry on the finish. Delicious.
