I never did like famous mediums, like John Edwards and such. But Theresa Caputo really rubs me the wrong way. Her personality really gets on my nerves and the fact that she's a total fraud makes it worse. I'm a Christian and I, personally, do believe in life after death. And I know that there are people who don't believe in an afterlife, of any kind, and that's perfectly alright. Everyone has the right to their own beliefs and speculations regarding death. And we should all be respectful to one another when it comes to these beliefs. We shouldn't look down on one another or call each other stupid, because a person's religious or non religious beliefs aren't what matters. I have Atheist friends, who are good and kind people, and I think that's what's important. The reason we get along is because we all accept that we won't be able to change each other's minds, regarding religious beliefs, though we do still have conversations on the matter, from time to time. The one thing we all agree on though, (except for Cora, who is also a Christian) is that these mediums are all frauds who maliciously take advantage of grieving families, for fame and money, and they all need to be stopped. There are too many stories of "psychics" who take ppl's life savings, in exchange for telling ppl what they want to hear. If someone actually is "psychic" they shouldn't make a career out of it. Beliefs in an afterlife would be one thing, but taking ppl's money is another. I, personally, feel that making a career out of being a medium is the same as stealing, with extra steps.

My mom didn't actually believe in psychics but she loved the show. That's about the only good thing to come out it though. It made my mom happy but this lady is still lying to people.

The single most important thing that a "medium" relies upon is the fact that their subject has already assigned a strong value to whatever they're going to say. So they are already looking very hard to stretch vague comments and questions to fit their loved ones' departure. From there, a medium can get specifics from the subject. Cold reading is a one-size-fits-most industry. And it's shameful.

Sadly the afterlife is too much of a want for people to think rationally about it. I know there isn’t one and this is the only life we get, that was told to me by my own brain as it was doing it’s Jesus impression and obviously would know everything about me. This has to be the most ridiculous critique I have ever seen.

1. There is nothing that says a medium will ALWAYS be right.

2. The purpose of the show is to bring healing and closure. Negative stories would compromise that purpose. Also, stories also leave the client much more vulnerable than people who receive positive messages.

3. She has explained why it’s harder in large crowds. There are alot of people wanting to come through and a lot of messages to sift through.

4. I’m sorry, but background checks do not account for some of the details she identifies e.g. 2 butterflies chasing someone constantly or a feather of deep significance.

I think this video more about the critic’s ignorance of what it means to be a medium than about
Caputo’s legitimacy!
