I don't think your Book Tracker is too extra:
If it motivates you and makes you happy, that's a FUNCTION!

I always put a spread called "ARCHIVE" at the front of a new bullet journal, and I'll mark down the page numbers and descriptions of important spreads from the previous journal (including that journal's archive page haha) so that if I need to reference something, I can easily find it in a previous journal.

I've been keeping a journal since I was in my teens and I am now 65, so it's been a minute. Actually, we all started around the 8th grade but in those days it was called a diary...with a little lock on it that had no chance of keeping anyone out. I've been hearing lately about Bullet Journals, so I typed into the search bar, "how to bullet journal" and oh my God, I was surrounded by Bullet journal video's and for what ever the reason, yours stood out to me and I'm so glad it did. You are a hoot! Seriously, your easy-going humor picked me right up from having the mulliegrubs, and I learned a little something about creating a bullet journal as well. Cindy, you're providing a service that goes way beyond the tutorials you offer, but those are fun, too you are sending out an energy...a healing and uplifting energy that draws people in, and at a time when the majority of us need it the most. Keep up the good work and thank you for your service. NamaSte, Linda

I see a lot of people struggling to keep up with the index, lol. I feel like it is because majority of bullet journalists, that I see online keep their entries somewhat organized from the start. Like, they will have designated pages for sertain type of contents, monthly pages, weekly pages, and so on and so forth. In the original system though, there is much less stucture. It is more like a continuous stream of conсiousness, where you add notes and plans as you go on with your day. And this is where index is becoming crucial to keep all of these things organized, otherwise it will become just a regular journal full of information, that is in total chaos. I am personally loving the original concept of just adding stuff as I go, and for that reason my index is functional. But I think both ways to fill the journal can work just great. It just depends on a person. Anyways, thanks for another great video:)
P.S. Sorry for my broken English:)

It's so fun to watch your excitement lately. I know you had a few months where you felt creativity was kinda down and you had your existential crisis -- and it seems like especially with the power sheets and being really focused this year, you've really just had a contagious about of inspiration and it is so fun watching you grow with your business and incorporating things you value. 👍🌸

Y'all

I tear it up.

And tape it into the page.

Hey. My BUJO. My rules. No one sees anyways.

And I agree with what you were saying about doing what feels right. Thats is how I live. In terms of things we have control over, do it the way you want to .. not the way people say.

I'm moving to a new Bullet Journal in June, too... and I'm re-doing everything. When I was working full time I had a lot of stuff to track and keep moving, where as I'm now focusing more on the writing. It'll be so freeing. No more awkward time tracking! Woo!

Bullet journal-er here. I specifically have 2 different books that i keep together at all times on a planner cover. The first book is a soft cover LT1917 that keeps all my yearly trackers, and the 2nd is a hardcover LT1917 for my monthly stuff. When my hardcover is done i pop it out of the cover and replace it without having to redraw all of my yearly stuffs.

I have photocopied and pasted in spreads a few times. Usually if it's a chart/table that I need for a project though.

I bullet journal in a TN now - my first notebook is a running future log, the second is anything that lasts longer than a month (my collections), then I have a notebook per month to bullet journal in. I started doing it this way a couple of months ago and I love this system!!

Well since you asked.... I'm moving into a new Bullet Journal. I'm trying out the Michael's dot grid notebooks so we'll see how that goes. When I was there I saw the larger soft cover dot grid journals it gave me an idea - move my yearly trackers and such to the larger one. It's soft cover so I don't love it, but it doesn't go in my purse so it wouldn't get all banged up. This way I neither have to transfer or keep old notebooks out on my desk.

For the first time ever I went through all of my old bullet journals (all three of them over four years - I bounce around with planners) and I transfered things I want in my new journal. Emotionally it feels good.

I switched over to bullet journaling in a travelers notebook. I have all of my long-term collections in one insert so i don't have to continually copy it from one book to the next. I have a monthly insert that will take me from January 2019- June 2021. And I have my weekly / daily insert, a 4th insert is for brain dumps/ notes etc. I used to have it all in one book but I would have to copy so much stuff over at least 4 times a year, that would get old really fast. Thus way i only have to change out the weekly/ daily insert and the brain dump/ notes insert when they get filled. Plus I use a chic sparrow black beauty narrow deluxe travelers notebook and that's just heaven in your hands so... yeah... that's how i solved my migrating issues. 👍😁

This year instead of having to redo everything when a journal filled up, I decided to try using a discbound system. I keep all my collections together in one part. It's easy to add/update them that way. I'm also able to remove months when they're not relevant to my daily life anymore. I also don't use an index, I keep everything separated via cardstock dividers and avery like tabs.

I use a travelers notebook with a monthly insert, a larger insert for regular bullet journaling, and a yearly collections insert exactly for all the stuff I don’t want to transfer all the time.

Scribbles That Matter has come out with a 160gsm paper journal. You can find it on Amazon.
As for moving into a new Bullet Journal, I decided this year I have 2 Bullet Journals going. One is for collections and yearly trackers and the other one is for Monthly, weekly, and dailies. That way I can move to a new Bullet Journal in July without moving everything over.

I do my collections, trackers in a separate smaller book I keep in my folio with my bullet journal so I can slide out the used up bullet journal and add the new one while still keeping all my yearly tracking intact;)

Hi Cindy, I found the same hassle of collections that I didn't want to re-do for each new Bullet Journal and ended up using the Rhodia Rhodiarama to house all the collections for the year. It sits nicely in my Chic Sparrow A5 TN that holds my daily BUJO which is currently an A5 Archer and Olive. This way when I move into a new A5 Normal BUJO with my future, months, weeks, and dailies, which happens every 2-3 months depending on how busy the months were, I still have the Rhodiarma right there with all the collections. Hope that makes sense! And of course this works best with a travelers notebook but you could use the bands that people use to attach TN inserts into a TN when they want to piggy back them. It may not be the prettiest but it would then be with the current BUJO without an actual TN cover.
