For 18 years, I've been driven by fear, and this relentless fear has had a profound impact on my self-esteem. It led me to constantly question and doubt my salvation, making me wonder if my efforts were enough to please the Lord. When I'd unintentionally fall asleep while reading the Bible or neglect to pray upon waking up, I'd be consumed by guilt. Watching passionate sermons by Paul Washer would sometimes intensify these feelings, as I compared myself to other Christians who seemed to have it all figured out. This constant comparison left me feeling inadequate on my Christian journey and fueled my self-doubt, making me fear that I wasn't producing enough fruit and that if I was not producing enough fruit, then I must be destined for hell and one day Jesus would say to me, "I never knew you, depart from me you worker of inequity". Watching a few of your videos on this topic has helped a lot. It's amazing how identifying the problem and giving it a name (pietism)can make one feel so liberated. It's like the scales are falling off my eyes and I can now see. So thank you and may God bless you guys and your ministry.

I needed this so much today. There are so many preachers I have come across who will say "Saved by grace not by works" but then turn around and warn we may all be false converts and end up in hell. I cannot tell you how much I have struggled with feeling assured in my salvation and where I stand with God. Thank you for this reminder.

O thank you. Struggling with doubt and a lack of assurance is terrible. Oh my goodness it is terrible but I’m so thankful to God to have found a label for the reason behind my doubts and lack of assurance. We are failures! but Christ Jesus is not. I thank God for you and this video. Liberation might be the word that I feel. I look forward to the day when free from sin and in the presence of our Lord. I believe pietism has had a larger influence in my life than I first may have thought. I appreciate your ministry here and pray that God would bless your churches. All for His glory.

He blesses us when we BELIEVE right I think. This is what I am questioning with Him now.

Boy I've watched this video a bunch because I felt like I wasn't doing enough to please God, I was wondering if I had truly been born again, then I got into the who "Can you be truly saved and walk away from it?" like some of the Arminians would say.

This video really brings it back to how simple it is, and that we shouldn't look to what we do or look to our faithfulness and obedience, but we should fix our gaze on the Son.

Christ’s Death Perfects the Sanctified

11 "And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. 12 But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God, 13 from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool. 14 For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified." - Hebrews 10:11-14 NKJV

On the other hand, there are professing Christians who seem unfazed by any notion of repentance and obedience and whose lifestyle looks no different at all from the that of unbelievers who have no fear of God. And these folks hear a message like the one in this video and say, “see, it’s all of grace. I don’t have to worry about measuring up. It’s all covered by Jesus.” Those are the people I’m most concerned about.

I can’t thank you guys enough for this message. I know this but for some reason I fall back into legalism so often! Jesus did it all and all to Him I owe.

Your videos have helped me so much. Christ has finished it all and what He’s done is enough. Thank you for always bringing the focus back to Jesus. God bless you both

Amen brothers! Thank you so much for your continual explanation. I thank God for using you to open my eyes on pietism and leading me into Christ away from my own works. Soli Deo Gloria!

From my childhood I have been taught in pietistic thinking. My prayer is that God guides me through his spirit into the truth that sets free.

God give you more grace and peace!

Thank you so much for this video ❤ I didn't know much about Pietism and that I was operating in it. I would over self-examine because I had fear that I wasn't elected.
