Sailing HideAway Com-Pac 23- New Trailer: Horizon 20 or Com Pac 23?

UPDATE: We've had the trailer for a year now. Although the trailer is clearly labeled "Horizon" it does meet the weight requirements for the Compac 23. However, the bunks were set up for the Horizon and we had to move the winch stand forward to balance the load. We added trailer guides that have been a great help in cross-winded loading. I noticed recently that all four tires seemed low. I was leaving rubber marks on the pavement during turns. I checked the pressure on all of them - 30lbs! That's ok if you're hauling air, but we don't. I bumped them up to the 50lbs listed on the tire. We have a tropical storm in the Gulf of Mexico right now that prevents launching- stay tuned. Otherwise the new trailer is a huge improvement from my rebuilt junk yard trailer (see my videos). It's definitely worth saving up your boat dollars!
UPDATE #2: If your boat has a factory installed bow sprit the bow eye will be at the water line. This allows the winch stand to be closer to the hull. Hideaway, of course, does not have a bow sprit, so the bow eye is considerably higher than the newer boats. I had to move the winch stand farther forward because of where trailer's side beams join the tongue. If you are considering ordering a new trailer, be sure to discuss this with ComPac so they can reconfigure the trailer.
