From their crypts and shelters they crawled, to enter the rubble that was once their city. Their predators prepared from the hills, aiming their artillery...
rom the hills comes laughter as the mist of the blast diminishes. A slaughterhouse, abattoir, torn flesh lies everywhere, faces reveal their last screams, turned into stone. The sudden blast of death swept them off their feet. The death of hundreds was todays decree. We stare, we watch, we congregate, but in the end, do we care about their fate?
The streets of Sarajevo have died, their inhabitants survived. Unmoving targets, mothers and children, grenades smash them to bits. Lines are formed for a slice of bread, people have been scarcely fed. UN troops lean against their YPC’s, blue helmets mark the border of the target area. In seeing each other, it becomes easier to forget, a loving embrace is hard to give when one is not fed. Perils fade, if only for the slightest bit. border of the target area.
