Cult of the Lamb: Baal Spy Follower (DONT DO THIS)

DON'T DO THIS if you're trying to 100% a save file! I did this as an experiment and thought I would be safe from it because I thought the game only autosaves after a crusade. Checked the pinned message about what happened.

This is my second save file btw, not my 100+ follower file. I don't know why the recording is potato quality compared to the other video.

2/19/25 edit: one final edit to let all of you know that this has been long past solved, someone helped me get him back and removed the spy trait from him. <3 and to explain how this happens:

Firstly, you can not give a spy any necklaces naturally, I assume this is to prevent you from losing said necklaces when they leave. You will need to edit the follower's outfit on the Re-indoctrination stone and force it on them from there. No outside forces like hacks or edits needed.

Secondly, Aym and Baal take the traits of the followers you sacrificed to get them. (Ex: Your cow follower Stinkshit has the cynical and lustful traits. Sacrificing them for Baal will give Baal those said traits). You are basically replacing your chosen followers with the twins. Since being a spy is a trait, either twin can inherit it.

Thirdly, a spy will stick around for 5(?) days and then fuck right off if you don't do anything about it. A spy is not like a dissenting follower, you will never run into this spy follower ever again, they are basically deleted from the game. You can not chain up or sacrifice the spy if they've already entered the animation for sneaking away. (it will say Follower is Busy)

So this is what happened:
I forced the light necklace onto a spy, I sacrificed the spy for Baal, giving him the spy trait. I waited 5 in game days to see what would happen, Baal did what spies do and left forever.

It's a good thing ive found this video when while I'm in the middle of my playthrough, i wouldve saved the sacrifice specifically for the spies just to spite them like i always do, but now i know that Balls and Am-Pm will take on the traights of the sacrificed follower lol

I avoided this by sacrificing Narinder to get them back because someone told me they get the traits of who you sacrifice, and Narinder's got hte Immortal trait, so now they do too

Funny, when my cult got the first spy I somehow managed to give him the necklace and got Baal without him being a spy? I do have no negative mod on but I’m not sure if that’s the cause of it since spies still pops up at my place
