Took my CCENT Exam today... PASSED!!!! Thank you so much for your videos and resource suggestions. This was the first step in working toward changing careers out of teaching and into cyber security. I appreciate all you do for

I got my CCNA a month ago and on the job search at the moment. Your videos have been very helpful keeping me focused and on track. Much appreciated. Best of luck with your exam!

Go for it Chuck! CCIE written exam in 3 weeks seems like a stretch, but pass or not the study will pay off.

Honestly Chuck, I have been following you for years...
I have my CCNA in Routing and Switching and am currently persuing my CCNP (ROUTE) exam.
When you undertook to take your TSHOOT exam, I have been trying to push top take on the challenge with you, but seeing you take it, fail and then pass gives me encouragement and honestly, if I were you, I'd go for it...
Once you get the CCIE, noone can take it away from you...
I'm trying to get my CCNP and then CCIE in Route Switch and will be persuing 3 CCIEs - Route Switch, Security and Service Provider.

Go for it man! I'm on the same path myself. It's long and arduous, but you'll actually end up learning because of it. Can't wait to see that number!

Hey, Chuck. I had no technical background when I got a job as a network engineer. 5 years later I got my CCIE Collaboration. The hardest part for me was failing by about two points (more than once) and not knowing where I could pick up some points. It truly messes with your mind, but anyone can pass with the proper mindset, support, and dedication. I’ve mentored 6 people while they chased the CCIE. Some of them started blaming the proctor for their grade. It is important for candidates to never think this way. Instead, you should always assume you are doing something wrong even if you think you’re doing everything right. This allows candidates to remain focused on looking for the adjustments they should make rather than doing the same config/answers/command output because they believe they’ve done everything correctly.

Good Luck Chuck.

I think the biggest reason to getting a CCIE is also not just to prove to other people that you have a in depth understanding of Routing and Switching but also to yourself. This will be such a confidence booster. Not just that but like you said it is the Everest of our education almost for those who do certification. So maybe speak to your wife speak to your family because you are going to need their backing in going for the full CCIE. You need their support because there will be days were you are going to want to give up and that's when you will need their support.

Good luck and let us know how it went. And enjoy Cisco Live.

Chuck, I have a great idea for a video. Make a video about exam day once it arrives, what you should do on the day of your exam, what you should eat, how to stay calm etc

Go for it Chuck! There's a lot of value in having a freebie to take the measure of the exam. Study some, but since passing isn't the goal, don't let study add too much stress.

I just recieved my first Cisco Books ICND1 & 2 today, as I started working with Silver Peak SD-WAN offering and knowing that my networking skills are not up to scratch, thought I better start studying, so hopefully CCNA by this time next year. So glad I found your channel.

Go for it Chuck!!! A guy like you that loves Networking and has that kind of passion is built for it. You asked as to why you should go for it. The best reason of all is right there....knowledge. That and all of the things you will learn and can take with you from the experience. You will step into a very elite class of engineer and that accomplishment can't ever be taken away and most importantly the knowledge can't be taken from you. Go get it!

CCAr (Architect) is actually the highest Cisco certification obtainable. Study for the CCIE, though! Yes, chances are not high at passing, but if you fail by a lot, it may demotivate you...maybe. Good luck!!!
