Your daughter put it perfectly in an earlier video....one thing she admires about you is your passion and your determination to not give up. I know that is one thing all of us as ‘watchers’ admire about you as well. Also your transparency....about life, about farming, the struggles and triumphs. Truly a genuine person Sandi you are.☺️❤️❤️

I needed to hear that it's OK to walk away from what you thought you wanted and still find your path. You are inspiring to me❤️

I have to say, I know a lot of women who “lose themselves” at some point when they are raising children. I think sleep deprivation coupled with the intense selflessness of mothering can sometimes take us one step too far in that direction. I am glad you found a way to work through those times because now you are here sharing all of this with us!

It's been literally a year since you posted this vlog. Having gone through my own period of reassessing my purpose in life after I lost my daughter to sudden illness, I understand the journey you've traveled more than I ever could have 20 years ago. I so appreciate your level of honesty. I am not a farmer, even though I might well have loved being one when I was in my 20s instead of my 70s. You've brought such light and brightness into my days. I am so grateful for having found your channel. Keep on doing it.

The loss of a loved one is so hard. I lost my eldest son then my my dad and my father in law was killed in a farm accident. It was January so my husband went to look after his place. When all was done he came home with a little lamb that was rejected. That was my introduction to sheep as I grew up on a mixed farm with everything except sheep or goats. I fell in love and am building a flock of Katadins. They work for me as they are hair sheep so they don't need shearing. I had 8 lambs this year and 6 are twins. I will be purchasing another ram and will be splitting splitting my flock. I am learning so much from you. I have always been a farmer at heart and I have depression and find my sheep are my saving grace. Thanks Sandi for being honest as I know farming is not always easy.
Love from central Alberta

I can see the pain in your eyes when you mentioned losing your friend. It hits hard. On July 28th I lost my best friend of 45 years to COVID. We were as close or closer than some brothers I know. He was a better person than I and the world around him will miss him almost as much as I do. One day I will get to the point you are; being able to mention it without losing it. Believe it or not you made me realize that that day will come. Thank you.

Just a note about walking away ——-I was hell bent on becoming a surgeon. I got the residency I wanted and then threw myself into it, planning to finish in 5 years. Long story short, I walked away after 2 years. It wasn’t my passion, besides the fact that I could never get enough sleep. I felt like such a huge failure cause I was never a “quitter”. But now, 20 years later, I’m doing something different and loving it. I say this to let everyone know, as Sandi has, that you don’t ever have to stay in a place that is not right for you. Ignore others’ opinions and especially your own lol. Go back to school if you have to, but changing careers can change your life for the better It takes more courage to do that than it does to do nothing. So if that’s where you are, I applaud your courage, and good luck!

I do actually cry when you cry. I love the fact that you allow us to see the bad and ugly parts of farming as well as all the good. I believe it's important to see it all.

Someone once said, "The purest water is that which has pushed its way through miles of solid rock." Sometimes God breaks us down so he can reform us, to be better suited for the fruitful life he has planned for us. Y'all are a great inspiration to a lot of people!

Sandi… I just found you like 5 months ago so I’m keeping up with your new videos and going back and watching the oldest ones so I can see them all.
I loved this video because you answered so many of my questions I’ve been wondering about. Also learned A LOT about you. I am also a farm kid. We had a hog farm in Missouri. I raised chickens myself, about a 100 hens. For egg production selling to neighbors and friends. It was more of a hoppy because I love chickens. But to hear that you raised chickens also surprised me.
I’ve had and raised sheep as a kid in California, also helped my Grandfather and Uncle with their show wool sheep and goats. So I was raised in the show ring, which I enjoyed very much.
But back to you, thank you for sharing everything you do. You show it how it is the good and the bad. You don’t sugar coat anything. I enjoy watching your VLOGS, once I’m caught up with all them, I’ll be wanting you to post more videos. Lol. Thank you again for what you do.

Sandi. I’m a high school student and right now everyone around me keeps asking me about my future and in all honesty, I have f*ckin clue. So when this video came up after your most resent vlog and I heard you say “it’s okay to walk away from your plans” [ 9:45 ] I just about started crying. You have helped me through so much in the past almost 3 years years now and I just want to thank you. Even if you never see this I want you to know how much you mean to me. <3

I found your channel about 4 months ago. It took me a good 3-4 months to “catch up.” I’ve watched all your videos from the beginning. Our sheep farm has been in the making for two years now. Mainly convincing my husband to sell the cows and just focus on sheep because we have a big market for them here. Some where between vlog 100-200 I realized I wasn’t behind our sheep farm 100%. I started talking to my husband and being involved in making things more efficient. This makes me laugh as soon as I became 100% within weeks the cows were sold. Two months now without cows and I’m loving what the future of sheep farming hold for us. Thank you Sandi, thank you.

I have been watching your channel for the past month or so. This video just popped up so I thought I'd watch it. I love your personality and your husband is a hoot too. 😜 You treat your sheep like I would. It would be very hard for me not to jump in with them and start scratching behind their ears and scratching their backs while talking to them... LOL. I love how you take us along and explain what is going on. I find myself sitting here and saying "Darn, does it have to rain again. Can't they get a break and have a few sunny days?!" Anyway, you do such a wonderful job with your youtube videos. The amount of work that you do in a day... I think it would kill me. The fact that you can still appear to have lots of energy to smile and laugh through your videos, is amazing. ☺

Sandy. You are such a joy. I love watching you as a true, down to earth human being. Thankyou for taking time out of your busy farming life to including me in your journey. The baby sheep are so totally sweet.
