How to use BMW Maps – BMW How-To

In this video, BMW How-To will show you how to get to your destination with BMW Maps. The new BMW Maps navigation system with software from July 2020 or newer makes entering a destination easier and more convenient. It also provides more reliable up-to-date trip information. In BMW Maps, the destination function provides a clear overview by simplifying the menu structure. To enter a destination in BMW Maps, press "NAV", select “Search” and enter the full address, including street and house number, in the single search bar. For even quicker address input, use ‘quick search’ by pressing the ‘space’ key if no other likely destinations are suggested. You can also enter key words like names of points of interest or categories like stores. Upon entering the first letters, BMW Maps suggests likely destinations. Select a suggested destination and “Start route guidance” to be navigated to it. By selecting “My destinations” you can find recent destinations, favorites, as well as journeys, in order based on relevance. The most likely destinations related to your search history and their distance to the vehicle are listed on top. You can filter the list, to show only your “Recent destinations” or “Favourite destinations”. Select “Set home address” or “Set business address”, enter your frequently used work place or home address and “Save” the entered address in order to select these destinations quickly and easily in the future. When you have started a route guidance, BMW Maps shows you the estimated time of arrival based on pre-calculation of the traffic situation along your selected route. The traffic data for BMW Maps is constantly updated to make a more precise display of traffic delays and an up-to-date estimated time of arrival possible.

Depending on market, available for BMW's produced from July 2020 with Live Cockpit Plus or Live Cockpit Professional. Starting from Q4 2020, eligible vehicles with previous software versions will be enabled with BMW Maps via Remote Software Upgrade.
