Imagine how hard it was for Rodney, it didn’t even exist until he thought it and did it

The hardest trick in skateboarding would be hard to define for a lot of reasons.

1. Street, Vert, transition, etc. skating.
If Tony Hawk and Jamie Thomas played a game of skate near a 30 foot half pipe and a 30 set with a handrail going down it the winner of that game is essentially whoever gets to go first.

2. Flip and spin preferences. I had a friend I’d play skate with and we had a rule called “the mirror rule” in effect because without it whoever went first won. A laser flip for me is as difficult as a trey flip is for him. I struggle with trey flips and he struggles with laser flips. And if you ask me THEY’RE THE SAME TRICK. They’re just mirrored versions of each other and I’m more used to doing front shuvs and heel flips while he’s more used to back shuvs and kick flips. Similarly I have a much easier time doing an inward heel flip while his preference is a hardflip, which are also pretty much the same trick just inverted.

Also to an extent spin preference. A backside 360 is the same as a frontside 360 in my experience and boils down to which way you feel most comfortable spinning. Granted, sure, a backside 180 should theoretically be easier than a frontside 180 given that you can see where you’re going the entire time for the backside while frontside your back is facing the direction you’re going, but no, not really. Just depends on which direction you prefer to spin.

There are some variations that would be more difficult. And some tricks are obviously easier than others, like inward heel flip should be more difficult than a variable heel flip.

The damage this does to the top of your feet is unparalleled, props to you Jonny and your dedication to accomplishing tricks I couldn’t fathom to attempt ♥️

Can confirm you are the first person I have ever seen or heard of doing a switch Casperslide on a box. Have seen the on-the-ground versions a few times, but you're the first I had ever seen do it up onto something.

I wish I had your videos when I was skating in the 90's. I'd like to think I would have caught some of your persistence. Nice job landing it! It looks sweet.

Loved your series from a while back when you did all those Rodney Mullen tricks.

hey johny would you ever consider doing this trick but you do a one eighty into casper and a one eighty out so it would be a fakie halfcab casper slide which would be freaking insane and sounds like a very cool trick, might not be possible

I would love to see a backside flip into it (or switch bs flip into a regular one) that would look beautiful.

I love watching yr skills. I think you and Andy Anderson are the best current skaters out there. The major competition skaters are tired in my book

I did a cab switch step off 180 but on an off road, I didn't know Rodney did it switch. You are the greatest at showing a lot of the effort, and suffering (probably hurts more to watch that one back tail.
