A short summary of what people first language is.

I am a disabled person, an autistic person. I prefer identity first language just like many others. It is ableist to assume that disabled people prefer PFL and to dictate to people that they should use PFL. We dont want to be patronized.

Hi, disabled teen here. I am disabled. I'm also likely autistic. So I'm also a person with a disability and a person who likely has autism. Person first language pushes the ableist ideology that being disabled is bad. Moreover, it pushes the idea that you need to be reminded that a disabled person is still a person. Person first language can be fine, and some people prefer it, but pushing it is backed by ableist ideas and can do much more harm than good.

I am autistic. I don't "have autism". Autism affects everything I think, say, and do. Ever. It is intertwined with my perosnality and my feelings and my thoughts, and I wouldn't want it any other way. I am autistic, and I am proud.

I personally hate PFL. It makes me feel angry and uncomfortable. It’s like they’re trying to separate it from me, when that is not possible. I am autistic. Nothing will change that. My brain is wired that way. It is me.

This video never actually said what person first language is, only what it is not. As far as a summary of what it is, this is a horrible video.
