This scene is still so powerful. Murphy was able to walk through a hail of bullets no problem. But the realization of his own humanity sent him stumbling backwards.

This scene is amazing because you can feel that there is something going on inside Murphy’s head, that we don’t get to see his eyes, his facial expressions, only his jaw and lips, it’s a testimony to how great Peter Weller was.

Nancy Allen as Officer Anne Lewis was the heart of this film. She was tough and cool and sweet and adorable all at once. All the special effects and sci-fi shoot-em-up elements are nothing without a heart. And here it is.

Peter Weller's performance is amazing in it's subtlety. Robo doesn't understand the emotions he is feeling and Lewis' comment really hits him. So he falls back on his programming, "Excuse me, I have to go. Somewhere there is a crime happening.". It's punch one in the one/two punch that comes later when Emil says, "I know you. You're dead. We killed you!" Robo's reaction is the same there as it is here, only then there is no place for him to escape to.

I love Lewis. She stands by her partner no matter what, truly a badass female character. Nancy Allen deserves credit for her role.
