One of the saddest parts in all this, is how nonchalant so many in this comment section are to it all. “Get over it.” “Who cares.” These sentiments are troublesome. It absolutely matters. We should be holding this companies accountable. The government should be doing that job for the regular citizen. There are plenty of countries fighting this, but the United States just lies over and takes it, as if if doesn’t matter and as if nothing can be done. It’s sad, when in reality, plenty could be done. Plenty COULD HAVE been done, to prevent what we’re seeing these days. The hopelessness is troubling.

most of these so -called breaches are inside jobs by the company itself, they sell these personal data and then simply blame it on data breach by hackers (their own hackers)

The true issue is in how data breaches are so normalized by now. If there was a real option to sue, the companies like Google would have invested more into their security.

1997 - websites said, do not give your name, email or any personal information to anything online. Username and password was all you needed to create an account, no email.
