The Best Community in Gacha Gaming

Gacha games are known for many great things, but their community usually isn't one of them. In fact, they're oftentimes the worst part of playing these games. Wuthering Waves is different.

It's quite funny that most WuWa haters are bringing up the game's revenue as a way to say that the game is bad and dying. The question is how does the mobile revenue benefit me as a player? WuWa's monthly revenue is a fraction of Genshin's yet the game has faster significant QoL and is more generous than the latter. It should be the opposite. Also the Kuro CEO already said that the game already made back its budget.

I love kuro game. Even if they make Xiangli Yao free, I still going to whale for husbando. The more they listen to their players, the more I want to support them.

I wish people would just enjoy gacha games for what they are while being honest about its flaws

Woah thanks for the likes :3

you literally can't convince a genshin player that the game has flaws. they're so in denial it's insane

tbh I don't really care, it get annoying when the baiters keep posting bait in community. Like who gives an actual fuck who makes more money than who each month. PGR have been thriving in the background for years now, and we are eating good, WUWA is the same, I kinda miss when Kuro Games are such a niche title, most people who keeps being toxic in the community ain't even us og kuro fanboys. Also I would really love if there are server wide chat rooms in WUWA like in PGR, the shit that people say in Channel 1 is wild.

Agreed, WuWa community is pretty chill. Toxicity only exist when we're retaliating against Hoyo community 😖

Eh I feel like the WuWa community can be a mixed bag, like all communities tbh. I wouldn’t say it’s particularly better than the others.

There’s a lot of creators like Rexlent, and a large majority (I’d say) of people who yknow do their thing, enjoy WuWa and encourage the devs, which is great.

The other portion of the fandom, which is probably the ex Genshin players, have seemingly intrinsically tied WuWa to Genshin. I feel like under a surprising amount of videos, I see people saying “WuWa opened my eyes to how bad Genshit was”. These people talk about moving on from Genshin, but don’t really seem like they can.

Whenever I’ve seen people criticise WuWa too, some commenters immediately make the jump that
“This person criticised WuWa so they must be a Hoyo shill”, even if Genshin isn’t mentioned. And yeah, some of them are Hoyo shills. But not all of them.

Feel like a large part of the community can be massive copers at times too. Male characters like Jiyan don’t sell well, but they do when it’s LaDS. Revenue matters when WuWa global edges out Genshin global, but doesn’t matter when WuWa’s revenue drops. But hey, maybe my perception of the WuWa community is skewed by ytbers. Perhaps those on Reddit and Twitter are cooler, I’m not too sure.

Most of the WuWa community reminds me of the Genshin lore community, just enjoying the game for what it is without much quarrel. You just need to find the good apples.

Wuwa is about 4 months old now and i can comfortably say that it’s better than genshin in almost everything, in terms exploration, adding more features, fixing problems, combat and the rewards.the only thing that genshin have over wu is just being older so it have more content and more variety of characters, some thing wu will catch to in few months.
I feel sad that the game I spent more than 4 years playing is being out dated so easily by a 4 month old game, genshin has proven that it’s not making any improvement whatsoever, i took a break from gatcha games 4 months ago and started playing wu 2 months ago, and when i heard about natlan and the more quality of life features that is being added I updated the game and joined to see and got absolutely disappointed by the useless new artifacts thingy that takes four months to make one and it probably will roll all to defense when you get it, and the most importantly what genshin is known for is making a problem and selling you the solution they did it by making the game so slow then introducing yinlen and kazuha to make it faster now they are adding a bunch of characters that are very good at exploration but when you take them outside natlan they are dogshit or at least won’t preform 30 percent of what they do in natlan, so yes this update was to show what genshin is capable to add to improve the game and it’s less than nothing in comparison of what wuwa add every normal patch not a crucial one to the players overall.

Genshin would release a very slight improvement into their game and hoyoshills would foam in their mouth thanking their lord and savior Da Wei for even noticing an insignificant probiotic like them.

Edit: Mainly talking about hoyoshills especially those who are drunk in toxic positivity. If you play Genshin and criticize it constructively for game improvement, that's great.

Despite blue archive having weird players, as a community they would be better since they have barely have any drama.

Wuthering Waves doesn't have toxic positive like genshin has and also Kuro listens to their playerbase

Its basic psychology really, if your getting things for free from a company your more likely to stay with the company and in the future likely to spend real money on the game

I used to play Warframe and that game gave away very valuable stuff for free or on major discounts. Not many players get to experience live service games where a company respects and listens to them. It's a night and day experience compared to gaming under soulless corporations whose sole intention is to make calculated moves to squeeze wallets dry

CN revenue is legit way worse then global and the CN community is toxic af and yet the devs are still catering towards them (listening to them mostly and giving out more rewards to them). They’re probably trying to get CN revenue back up but they are super hard to please

I do think it's a bit naive to say that one developer loves players, and another doesn't. Let's be real : most developers love their players, and care about what they think. The main question is "how much freedom are they given", and at the end of the day, it all depends on the publisher and how much income they're expecting.
Kuro can afford to be more generous because they know if they play the same game as Hoyo, they'll lose (fan base is just not the same). So they give "a lot". That way they make you think they care about you. They don't care less or more. It's just another strategy to find a niche. Keep the same people at the top of the companies, but reverse the power balance (Kuro > Hoyo), and you'll find out that Kuro is the bad guy, Hoyo the generous one.
Yet, when I say they give "a lot", it's only with shitty standards. We got used to games with those shitty standards, so whenever we get something crappy but with good flavour, we're delighted.
But in the end, a shit is a shit.
If they really cared about the players, like you said, they wouldn't release a game with such aggressive policy, but would make us pay 60$ for the full game, maybe with some DLC every so and then. Like other companies, which sadly get bashed for doing the same.

Oh, and by the way, most communities are bound to get toxic the moment they get bigger. Take sports : it's the same. Soccer community is far worse than many other minor sports, not because soccer is a bad sport, but because fans are just too many.
By looking for differences between Genshin and WuWa, by comparing their communities, you're just playing the same game as those toxic players you're talking about. Just play like most players : don't care about others, and enjoy what you enjoy.
(To make things clear, I used to play a lot of Genshin, stopped for WuWa, then stopped WuWa, and even though I can't find any reason to play it anymore, I'm perfectly fine with people enjoying their time on it)

I like wuwa but dont even try, the community is one of the worst.

They are actually toxic to non WuWa players and always need to mention Genshin for clout or even go to Genshin posts to add their WuWa mentions. They are an echo chamber of cringe hypocrites.

Quite the contrary, I don't think wuwa community is chill. It's probably just ex-genshin butthurt players who make it toxic. I reported a bug to the game cs, and the cs told me to seek help on the community (implying that I don't know how the game works). In the community they just slapping "Ha! Skill issue" on me. All I wanted just the bug is getting acknowledge and fixed. Never again I'll be interacting to wuwa community.
