Violet Can’t Find It! (Lost 2000s Flash Game)

Man, I just found this old game I used to play when I was younger! I loooved playing it in front of my classmates to impress them on how fast I can find all the objects! It’s weird though, I wasn’t so…dreary the last time I played it. It also glitched a bit, probably cause it’s so old I suppose lol.

TW: This game tackles subjects about mental health that may be uncomfortable for some viewers.

Hey guys! Just wanted to clear up some things!

1. This isn’t a real game for those who asked. It’s just my take on those creepy fake flash games with a twist you see on YouTube.

2. I made this video because I have ADHD-Inattentive, but I wasn’t diagnosed until I was 15-16. I dealt with a lot of issues with attention and memory for as long as I could remember that was unbeknownst to me due to my neurodivergence. This caused a bunch of mental health problems down the road due to me struggling with both my education and social skills. I wanted to share awareness about ADHD and the effects it CAN have on teenagers when undiagnosed for so long. Again, not all ADHD is the same, and some people may be able deal with it easier than others. However, I must make it clear that ADHD is not a personality trait. It is a real disability that can have a negative effect on people’s ability to learn and socialize. If you think you may have ADHD, do not self-diagnose, go and see a psychologist if you are able to. It’s fine to suspect you have ADHD because of actual symptoms, but using ADHD as an umbrella term for any type of quirky behavior causes negative stigma for those who actually have it.

3. I understand if the video may seem rushed or not well executed to some. I honestly didn’t even think people would see it and it was more of a personal thing. I was under a time limit for a week due to other more important obligations like school work, so I do know I could have fleshed things out more and have better pacing if I had the time. However this is just something I made on a whim, so hopefully you guys understand lol.

Thanks for watching this video, I really appreciate the kind words. And I’m glad I was able to spread awareness with this short and rushed video!

Bonus: 4. Yes, that is Lacey and two of the GirlsGoGames mascots lol.

okay at first i thought this was gonna be another creepy ARG but then it turned into a PSA on ADHD awareness. i love it! it's a delightful surprise and as someone with undiagnosed neurological problems, i can definitely relate to violet's struggles. during my school years, i could barely focus on certain subjects, only subjects that pertained to my interests like science and art, and even then it was still a struggle.

Finally a video like this that isn't disturbing nightmare fuel and instead a PSA. I remember when Flash Games used to have PSAs like this. Good times.

Autistic here, and oof... this brought back some memories. Entire nights spent trying to do work I couldn't focus on, sweating bullets in class as classmates wrote entire pages in the time it took for me to write a sentence, breakdowns in my room as I wondered why I was born broken... even a decade later, I still have nightmares about high school.

You guys aren't alone, I promise. I hope things get better for you, whoever you are.

As someone with ADHD thank you for speaking up it’s hard sometimes to have people understand what it’s like.

Ooh this has a pretty good story compared to some other Lacey's flash game inspired games. Also liked how clicking in the buttons for the second part did nothing lol.

Is this flash game "lost" because Violet couldn't find it?

All jokes aside, as someone with autism, I relate to this so much!!

i struggle with adhd. i know i do, and i've had teachers tell it to my face too. but my parents refuse to ever get me officially diagnosed, insisting that i'm perfectly normal and just need to work harder. i've been working harder for the past five years, and it's still hard. violet's troubles really hit home, and this video was a really nice one, capturing what happens visually, something i haven't seen before.

Was NOT expecting that PSA. I thought the last "Find it" was gonna be a suicide thing (i.e. "Find your will to live") but this was way more attention grabbing and spoke to me. Great job!

Not ADHD, turns out, but damn it's kinda hitting home hard to see a hidden objects game-themed mental health animation when my mental condition has cost me an enjoyable job developing hidden object games, this very year ;_;

2:13 as a 17 y.o with adhd, this hits heavier than the piano

I relate to this a lot as someone who was diagnosed with adhd later in life. The part where violet says tjose words to the mirror rlly broke my heart because I have said similar things like that to myself after my terrible experiences.

Honestly, I was expecting Analog Horror of some kind, but I really like the approach you took for the PSA. Violet’s design is incredible, and everything about it from the references to the art style really makes this amazing. Great job on this!

I don’t (currently) feel any of these symptoms but this still goes so hard! You can see Violet struggling and you totally get her fear and stress, especially at the school and end scene! Even the art is super cute! This is just so good overall!

As someone of ADHD and Autism i can relate to this video so well and I just want to be violet's friend and give her a big hug

but it still doesn't change the fact that I watched this at 1:50 AM and it's scared to ever living shit out of me

which is exactly why it was watching a horror videos like this so good job

As a teenaged demigirl with autism/ASD, and selective hearing, I know how that feels. Poor violet :(

I was worried this was going to be something covering psychosis/other mental illness in a stigmatizing way because of the pill bottle but funny thing, the second possibility I thought of (which I thought couldn't be the actual intent) was ADHD meds
And then when the school scene happened I was like... oh wow it is actually about ADHD, isn't it
I think it's interesting the meds are a hidden bonus item, because that might imply they're not being regularly taken (which can happen because executive dysfunction makes it hard to remember to take them)
