The original Tech 21 Bass Fly Rig (introduced in 2014) was a true game-changer for players in all categories, from touring pros to bedroom hobbyists, and expanded into a series. Each Tech 21 Fly Rig is much more than a pedalboard. In a single pedal. And no board. Less than 13” long and weighing just over 20 oz., each sleek, compact unit embodies an entire rig. At its core, is the all-analogue SansAmp, which makes it possible to go direct to a PA or studio mixers and computer interfaces. For effects, you have the essentials and the ability to add some fun stuff, too. Rodney McG tells us more about the Tech 21 Bass Fly Rig V2.

Bought this unit couple of weeks ago and I'm super happy with it! It does everything I need and is easy to carry with you anywhere. You can get some pretty awesome tones out of it for any situation really. Also really happy to see Rodney McG again on your channel! He's the man when it comes to bass gear and playing!

Thanks for the review. I just picked up one of these and I am still getting to know it, especially the Octafilter section. Thanks for sharing.

Yep. I got to the point where I’d seen all the reviews and read as much as I could handle. I pulled the plug and got one…… Wow. For me it’s a game changer. Simplistic, everything I need fx wise with great tone shaping abilities. I love the two channels and the options this gives you.
I might be tempted to use my EBS multi comp pedal. As I just love that pedal.

In the first version there was the headphone option that is now replaced with the speaker simulation. So, I'm asking whether this new version can also be plugged straight into headphones or not?

most detailed review of this pedel, i jut got one after doing a gig where i dragged my massive pedalboard 2hrs in a car for a gig only to use the compressor and tuner, total lightbulb moment i went online and purchesed this pedal with the gig money i just made. now its time for a gear sell off

The loss of the character knob for fine tuning the Sansamp section and the loss of tone for compressor was a loss for me. Reverted back to V1.

To be honest, when this V2 came out, I was a bit disappointed. Mainly because in the effects section (after the effects loop) nothing new is offered. I had wished for at least a flanger as a chorus alternative, since flanger is an effect that is used very often, if not more often, as a chorus in rock basses. It would also have been better if, for example, you had had a VT Bass AND a Bass Driver, or at least could preset the two gain/masters with a different character (a VT Bass and a Bass Driver). Since I don't need the effect loop, I stayed with my Bass FlyRig V1. I also have the SH-1, which offers the two gain/master settings, and the DP-3X, which is the optimal pedal for heavy bass distortion sounds.

Whatever you do, don't play or give examples of what you're talking about as you're talking about it, or even at the end. People definitely don't want to hear a piece of music gear.

Over 12 minutes long, with only 2 minutes of absolutely horrid sound... good thing there's other demos of this, because if all i had to go on was this, I'd look elsewhere

Clackety clackety, buzz buzz. Plucked eyebrows.
