How excited are you about the FPS & Cast ANNOUNCEMENTS??

I grew up having the same passion for Tolkien's world as you all have for Rowling's. I am happy for you guys that you get to experience that world and happy to see so many of you reject this ridiculous cancellation/boycott attempt by a few bad apples.

I hope that one day some developer will make an RPG in Middle Earth where I can roam the entire world doing quests, wielding the power of a ring, building a hobbit hole or a tree house, and searching the forests for lost loot.

Did you see the details about story mode in the accessibility features they released? Story mode means spell learning minigames requiring precise movement cannot fail and puzzles will not be time sensitive! It will be cool to see how much the difficulty settings change the puzzles and combat! And being able to change difficulty during normal gameplay is awesome! I won't have to stress over choosing the wrong difficulty!

As for Patronus, I think they'll have it as just a Pulse Wave looking spell, like it is shown in Prizoner of Azakaban movie, rather than have it looking as an animal, which I think makes sence honestly. Because if you are gonna fight Dementors, you would need a fast casted spell that has AOE effect, rather than directional.

I feel like if there is a corporeal patronus form it's a set corporeal form. Maybe it's part of the story, maybe it's not, but I feel like that's the likely route.

I hope that Cloppet is the Ravenclaw companion. Us Ravenclaws DESERVE a proper companion like all the other houses get. We are done with being forgotten and left out of everything. Also, I didn't know who Luke Youngblood was. We didn't get much Lee Jordan in the movies or the books. But, holy hell, he is so incredibly handsome!! Three weeks! I can't wait! Even though I can't take off of work and can only play a bit in the evenings, I can't wait!!

Steam has a few classifications for how playable something is on the Deck. In order of compatibility from most to least: Verified, Playable, Unknown, and Not supported. Hogwarts Legacy will be Verified, the best possibility, not just compatible. Most games can be compatible on the Steam Deck with some tweaking.

The patronus charm is basically only usable against dementors anyway afaik. Seeing as they likely aren't the main enemies we'll be facing in the game it's not that big a deal that we won't have our personal patronus animals imo.

Being a ravenclaw I planned to have the ravenclaw companion with me as much as possible throughout my first playthtough. The fact he maybe voiced by Luke is just icing on the cake at this point. Especially since his character is interested in history and I am planning to go to school to be a history teacher myself one day. :) my nerdy ravenclaw self is so excited!

My guess: if corporeal Patronuses are added, it will be part of a DLC all about Dementors and include at least one dungeon infested with them.

Not necessarily Azkaban, but something.

I mean it makes sense that our patronus from the quiz wouldn't be transfered due to story reasons if we will see a coporial patronus from our pc

Expecto Patronum itself is an interesting spell as it's one of the few spells to have "levels" of its own. The Lvl1 version is purely defensive, conjuring a wall that shields you from dementors. The Lvl 2 version, as we've seen in the movie/books, summons a magical creature that is more offensive to the dementors and causes several radiant waves to repel them. While it may be interesting to make the spell in the game reflect that as we get stronger, it may just be a narrative spell for specific encounters. While it might only so far be cannonically anti-dementor, it may have other purposes we don't know yet. The devs might surprise us, but anyone expecting 100+ patronus variants is a bit much for their first game. and would make more sense to save for a potential sequel.

As far as the Patronus goes, I wouldn't be surprised if they avoided marketing because they only support like 10+ animal choices. It would be too much to have all the possible options lol.
